Now that my girls are older I feel like the packing is even harder! So many things to not forget especially on this Halloween/Marvel/Day at Disney cruise. Oof. Next cruise no themes just relaxation! Four suitcases and a stuffed garment bag for a 7 night cruise and 3 days before hand in Canada/driving is too much. I think I need to repack and try to get it down to 3 suitcases. smh

HAAAATTTEEEE packing..... unpacking......laundry........

Just got back Saturday and I finished my last load of laundry today.

I loathe packing... I always end up wishing Id brought something that I chose not to so its just an exercise in frustration.

I love unpacking though... all the laundry goes into the washer and everything goes in its place... totally an easy mindless task, lol! :)

I hate packing too. It’s so confusing and I always overpack and have to take stuff out.
As for unpacking...
I’m still unpacking from a Disney trip this past August ... sigh . And in that one duffel bag that I still have not gotten around to, there are things in it from our Disney Cruise last year. I’m so bad.

Love packing for the cruise and unpacking in the stateroom.

HATE packing up in the stateroom and unpacking at home. (When you have to schlep to a laundromat, laundry isn't fun AT ALL.)

I hate packing, too. If you're driving, can I suggest a driving only suitcase? Pack your bags for the cruise, pack a small bag of whatever toiletries you need throughout your whole trip and then pack a bag that's just for the drive. Extra pjs, sure, but not having to repack every morning and especially on the morning of the cruise will be helpful. Leave that one bag in the car, with any coats you don't need and enjoy your cruise. Then, when you get off, you can use that bag for the trip home without hunting through your cruising stuff every hotel night.

Also, packing cubes are your friend. We used:

I loved the medium size, as they fit my shirts folded, so I didn't have to roll. I could get 14 tshirts and blouses in one easily. Or, some people pack outfits in a cube, so they know what to wear each day without hunting for the right things that go together. Whatever works.

Done and done. I have all our Halloween crap in a huge cube, I have our marvel crap in a soft bag, and all our driving/Canada stuff in a separate suitcase. Lots of other packing cubes with things like socks are also packed. I think it was such a pain this time because I had to do four loads of laundry before I began and because of all the costumes.

I don't mind packing. My husband packs his own stuff although he asks me 10 times how many shirts, how many shorts, etc. My daughter is easy - small clothes. :-) We don't do formal nights (although we did on our last cruise) so no need for extra shoes and clothes. We also found that we spend most of our day in our bathing suits - so only needed dinner clothes for each day. Only daughter does pirate night. Upcoming cruise I have a lot of FE stuff, ornaments for the ornament exchange, and candy for the candy exchange. We're also doing a day in Magic Kingdom before the cruise. Since it's only a 3 night cruise I think we may actually get away with 3 carry-ons!

Oh, and I use the packing "envelopes". LOVE them. Nothing gets wrinkled and each person's clothes are separate and organized. I use the small cubes for socks, underwear, pajamas. I love being organized!

I hate packing and so I always put it off until the very last minute. Not a great plan, I know. I am good about making lists ahead of time, though. I have various versions based on the type of trip.

I was so happy when our son hit the teen years and could pack for himself. I'd never in a million years pack for my husband - he travels all over the world for his job and can pack for a 3 week trip in about 10 minutes. It makes me so jealous!

I love packing!! It’s the unpacking and laundry that gets me...

I start packing about 2 to 2.5 weeks ahead of departing for the cruise. That way everything I want for the cruise is in the bag and won't be left behind in the laundry basket at home. My wife waits until about two three days before, keeping me awake as she's going in and out of the bedroom looking for things. We will be taking a 10 night cruise in Europe next year flying in early and adding extra days on in the end. So I think we will treat ourselves to paying for laundry service while on the cruise :sunny:

Buying Disney gift cards from Target to get the 5% off using the Red Card to pay for it!!! I really don't want to be doing laundry while on the cruise. Really really don't want to!!!!!

I hate packing, absolutely! When we travel, DH finishes packing, and I am still procrastinating! It’s a common theme and I hate it!!

Yup, hate packing....so hard to think through every outfit, etc. for everyone in my family (4 kids).

Hate it because it's the end? I don't waste any time with that packing, I don't care at that point so I just shove it all in and deal with it at home.

Yes. Packing - even just shoving it in the bag - means it's the end of vacation. :(
