Okay this is my first visit as an adult and mother to disney world - matter of fact MGM was almost finished the last time I went. My husband has never been. We bought 5 day hopper but we are ONLY using 3 of those days and of course one park we will not be able to go to. If you were me which park would you exclude and why? Or tell me which one I MUST SEE and why? Thanks alot!!!!!:smooth:

IMHO you gotta do MK, you could skip AK. If you love animals more than movies and rides, skip MGM and go to AK.

If it were me, I'd skip AK. It's a smaller park and there's less there. Actually, I think that it would be a waste to use one at AK and miss out on another park because it usually doesn't take us a whole day to get through. (More like a half).

I am not sure how old your kid(s) are but I don't think I would skip any parks. I think you should take advantage of your hopper privlages and try to see the best of all the parks. It takes about an hour to get to a new park by bus and this is usually air conditioned quiet time for the kids to rest.

I probably wouldn't try to do too much in Epcot's World Showcase. It is just too large to see in a short time. You might enjoy picking a country or two to visit, eating a nice dinner, and then viewing illuminations one evening.

We loved AK. The kids had a blast in the boneyard and our favorite show is the Lion King show.

If I were to exclude 1 it would be AK. I think it's a wonderful park, but if forced to exclude 1, that's my choice because I don't find that the things there have high repeatability. But that's coming from someone who has been many times. One question for you, why did you say you had to miss one park? You can go to more than one park in a day. Maybe 1 day at Epcot, 1 at MK, and a 1/2 each at MGM and AK. Just a thought to throw out there.

Most definitely! Now that that's thrown in there, I'd most surely suggest going 1/2 days to AK and 1/2 to MGM (AK first, however because I've heard the safari is better in the AM).

If I had too I would skip AK. We are not wild about animals, and although it is a good park it is one we can afford to miss. Actually we usually do Donald's Breakfast and then spend 2 hours in the park and then move on to another.

I'd skip MGM, definitely.

The lapse between shows is so large, and it seems like there are time gaps difficult to fill...

I love AK, there is no way on earth I'd skip that spiritual break in favor of rides...

I agree take advantage of your park hopping option. Look at the park maps while you are at home, figure out what you want to see and then find the parks with the least amount of things you want to see and put those into one day.

It does also depend on the age of your child or children. If the child/ren are young, they may not enjoy Epcot except for the fireworks at night. I know when I was younger, I didn't much care for Epcot. Now that I am 31, I enjoy it and my 7 year old does too. He of course loves Living Seas, The Land and Test Track. He also make sure we stop at Ice Station Cool. He isn't allowed to drink soda (pop if you are from up north) but he is allowed to try the drinks here. He gets the biggest kick out of getting people to drink Beverly.

Sorry getting back at the matter at hand.

So going to AK early seeing what you can and then leaving mid day to head to Epcot is a good option.

If you have any questions about anything, You can PM me. We have been there so much, that when we take family or friends who have never been, they look to us to make sure they can see as much as they can in the time that they have.

Hope this helps a bit.

I don't think I'd be able to skip any of the parks.

If you are set on only going to the parks on 3 days, I'd say do MGM and AK on the same day.

I would go to AK in the morning and MGM at night. This way you'll be able to see Fantasmic.

Fantasmic and FOTL are must sees.

Park Hopper Pass=park hopping. I agree. If you get to AK right in the morning, you can see most of it by 1:00pm. Get to your hotel, rest and then do MGM from 5-close. Of course, 2 variables none of us know. The age of your kids and where you are staying. That would have bearing on all the advice we are giving.

So, if I had to throw out one park...................oh..................... God..........maybe.......no.......well.........no................I personally would throw out MK. That's just me though. I know no one else would, but I worked at Disneyland for many years and so I have seen it close to a thousand times---just a little burnt out on it.But with kids you can't miss the MK.

Well good luck

I think others have tried to clarify what a hopper pass is, but if you're still not entirely sure, I thought I'd add a little more to what's already been stated. If you use your hopper one day, theoretically, you could visit all 4 parks that day and it would still only count as one day used on your hopper pass. Now, I don't suggest that type of commando touring (not 4 in a day), I do, as many others here, feel that you can get in 2 parks a day.

One day you could visit the MK in the morning and hop on over to Epcot for an evening, or go to the AK in the morning and hop over to the studios in the evening. Whatever suits you the best! That's an added plus with hopper passes.

I would definitely suggest doing the AK in the morning though, as it gets pretty hot later in the day here and it also closes earlier than the others. Check out the park's operating hours and plan accordingly.

We'd skip AK in a heartbeat. And probably won't be back to it until they open their new ride (if I can get dh to even go to that!). We just never have a good time here. We don't need to see the animals because our zoo here is phenominal. We have more fun at MK. Pizzafari was really good though!

epcot - because my daughter still apparently does not find it of interest - she's 7 - we go there and she is like "uh dad this is dumb...can we go now" I figure another year or so she will start liking it - personally myself I love it - my favorite park right now

I'd skip MGM. We really enjoy AK and managed two full days there (although we saw some stuff twice).

But what I'd really do is park hop. Go to MK your first day. See as much as possible by about three in the afternoon. Hop to Epcot - Epcot is a great afternoon and evening park.

Next day try AK in the morning. Hop over to MGM for the afternoon.

Third day decide which two parks (or one park) you REALLY want to do and go back.

We spent seven days last vacation and didn't manage everything we wanted to do inside the parks.

You said "mom" - how old are the kids and are they coming along. My kids could care less about MGM - they are much too little for most of the thrill rides - which left Playhouse Disney and the Muppets - and they were really too little to get the whole 3D movie thing. But we could have spent hours watching tigers as AK and rode Peter Pan's Flight six times in seven days.

We leave in less than a week, and we faced the same problem. At first we planned a lot of park-hopping, but I was always uncomfortable with the idea of dragging my family from one end of the property to the other every day, all in the name of "seeing it all".

Then the solution (for us) provided itself. As I was planning with DS6 AND DD5, I went through each attraction to plan what we would do each day. Amazingly, they turned down EVERY SINGLE MGM attraction. They're too old for playhouse Disney, and pretty much scared of or bored with everything else.

This meant I had to cancel a PS at 50's for my birthday, but DW let me make PS's for Le Cellier instead! Yum!

So, the moral of the story is ASK YOUR FAMILY. Not in general, you'll never get an answer. Go through each attraction, getting a YES, NO, or MAYBE for each one (include yourself). The answer will show itself!

I have to say (DS 9 and DD 6 on our last trip) that MGM is our least favourite of the theme parks. Now we can certainly find enough to do there in a day and we all enjoy Fantasmic, but IMHO Animal Kingdom is even better.

I like Crisi's idea of hitting all 4 parks in the first two days and then deciding where to spend the 3rd day (probably MK if your children are young enough).

Have fun!

I know I'm in the minority but I would skip Epcot. It's not that we don't like it but we just like the others better.
