We will be heading down to BWV the latter part of July, first time as DVC members. We have been to the parks numerous times and have visited a good number of the restaurants. If you had to pick one restaurant which one would you pick and why?

If time & money were no object -- V&A.

On a more realistic scale, I just love eating at CG overlooking the MK. Add in the fireworks and the delicious food and it's a meal you can't get anywhere else but WDW.

I give up

V&A?

CG? That's not the california grill is it?

I'd be interested in these names and your advice.

V&A is Victoria and Alberts which is in the Grand Floridian
CG is California Grill on the 15th ? floor of the Contemporary

We have not been at either, but plan to someday. In May we ate at Artist's Point in the Wilderness Lodge. The food was great.

I would definitely eat at the California Grill. The food and the atmosphere are great!

California Grill is in our opinion the best restaurant at WDW. It scores high for us an all counts, food, atmosphere, location, view, service. There are others where we like the food as well, and others that may be equal on atmosphere, but no others for us that have it all like California Grill. We always schedule our meals at California Grill during MK fireworks. I think that adds significantly to the Magic.

I would choose Jiko. Great food, fantastic African wine, and good atmosphere.
Second choice: either Marakesh or Concourse Steakhouse.

WAIT WAIT!!! I forgot about Ohana!

We love eating at Tapenyaki in Japan. The food is great but sitting around the grill and talking with the other guests is the best part.

Since you will be staying at BWV, you have access to some really fun, interesting, great restaurants at EPCOT. Two of my favorites are Chefs de France and Tappanyaki Grill. Check the dining/restaurants board. You will get some good ideas there.

Another vote for Artists' Point. Great food, and just enough great atmosphere. If you get a table by the window, you may be able to see the geyser.

DH and I did V&A on our honeymoon. It was a nice one time thing for us, but we got tire of sitting up straignt with our elbows off the table. Great memory. We decided we'd probably not do it again, though. (Maybe for an anniversary.)

Only one? There is no way.....

But if I have to logically break down my thought... I will pick -

CA Grill - if I never have any Asian fusion food (ie, if you live outside of LA and NY).

Flying Fish - if you love seafood, served in a fun (aka, loud) environment.

V&A - if you love romantic scene, want to go all the way out, and rich.

Brown Derby - if you love great food while dressed in a T-shirt, and happen to be in MGM and must make Fantasmic.

Akerkraus (Norway) - if you really want something very, very unique.

Tenpayaki or Moroco or Matsu no Ma - If Norwegian food freaks you out, but still want to try internationally unique food.

Shula's Steakhouse at the Dolphin. It's the best steak I've ever had!!!

sanmc12,

Try posting this on the "Disney Restaurants" Board here on the DIS. You will get even more responses.

thanks to all for the great suggestions...we'll have our work cut out for us when we arrive. Pooh and Piglet and idea on how I get this thread over to the restaurants board?
