If you had just a few hours to give Walt Disney himself a tour of WDW, what would you show him to make him most proud?

If you had asked me this question 30 years ago, I would have said the cleanliness and attention to detail all around. Now that's no longer as true as it was then. I guess right now I'd point to some of the high tech attractions at each resort. Those are things that would make him proud to see what he started with his original autoanimatronics.

I would show him the WL & the villas! The little animal tracts in the snow (cement), the RR room in the villas, the lobby that takes you in spirit to the west and more. I cannot be in that area of WDW and feel anything but a sense of wonder.

Bobbi:goodvibes

he'd love the safari ride in AK...and probably, "it's tough to be a bug." we'd also hit expedition everest as i'm sure they'd turn on the yeti for the main man. ;)

maybe swing by toy story mania if we didn't have to wait in line. i think we'd also go to epcot for the spaceship earth ride, soarin' and illuminations.

(i couldn't take him to MK. he might ask to ride the snow white ride...)

I'm thinking:
1) A slow walk up Main Street pointing out the names on the buildings
2) A ride on Pirates
3) Tree of life for "Bugs Life"
4) Safari
5) Soarin
6) End the tour with "Wishes" Then off to Sosas "En Fuego" at West Side for a cigar and a good single malt scotch....my treat :goofy:

I would invite him for lunch in our villa, so he could see our family sitting together for a home prepared meal in our own quiet place after a morning of tour the parks, enjoying each others company without the outside distractions of the world, talking about what a great place this is and how lucky we are to be able to share it year after year.

I think Mr. Disney would like that...

Can I come? I'll cook!

Good question.....albeit to say I think he is smiling down from the heavens and enjoying the transformations of WDW and DL. He may be also amazed at the other parks in the other countries.

I would love to show him Walt Disney a man and his dream. I think he would get a kick out of that. How they finally finished the Cinderella suite in the castle and Disney at Christmas.

EPCOT....it was storyboarded and the last big project he presented for Florida before he died. I think he would love to see how it turned out.
Boy would I love to spend some time with that man! He's one personality that I never met but truly miss!:flower3:

With daylight running out, I would take him to the STOL runway he used when flying in to check things out and go up in a helicopter to survey his property and all the improvements made. Then have him see his WORLD in all its nighttime glory and hover in flight while watching all the pyrotechnic events in all the Parks lighting up the sky before we land.

I would love to show him EPCOT also. My favorite is the World Showcase.

Wow, the vison he had, the chances he took are all incredible!

I would take him to the main gate as the park opens so he could watch all the happy families coming in to spend time together in his park. For Walt it was about the people and having a place families and guests of all ages could come for fun.
To be able to show him his vision was correct beyond his wildest dreams would indeed be an honor and I believe a great sense of pride for Mr. Disney.
Happy Holidays everyone and Thanks for all the memories Walt and all of them yet to come.

And to think, it all started with a mouse!

Love this answer! With all of the things going on in the world today, it does the heart good to be reminded that "family" is not a thing of the past.
