If you had a resort day, where would you stay

We are adding two nights on the end of our vacation. A Saturday and a Sunday night. The Sunday will be a resort day. Now the problem... Which resort? If you had a day to spend at a resort, which one would you pick?

We have never had much time to explore our resorts. That is one reason we booked a Windsor Hills townhouse for the majority of our stay.

Please share your resort day for any property including Shades of Green.

Beach Club. We love the pool and being near the boardwalk and Epcot.

I second the Beach Club. We added 3 days on the front end of our trip this year (no park tickets, just room only), just to spend time at Stormalong Bay and enjoy the Boardwalk / mini-golf / resort. Teenage DD's love SAB!

Beach Club is a good choice for the pool and being near the boardwalk. I would say maybe Animal Kingdom, for the animals and restaurants. Grand Floridian would be another good choice, with monorail and proximity to other resorts, and ability to watch fireworks.

Ditto Beach Club or if not the Yacht Club just based on the pool area and the closeness to Epcot, DHS and the Boardwalk. We stay at POFQ and with the boat to DTD, being able to use POR's pools ( it is a 15 minute walk ) that is another idea if a Deluxe is out of the budget.

AKL. Beautiful resort with lots to see and do.

AKL it is a great resort with lots to do, great pools and dining. Plus, you are not looking at a theme park next door tempting you!

I agree with the previous posts about YC or BC. The pool there is THE best pool on WDW property hands down. There's so much to do at the resort besides swimming...movies on the beach, campfire, walk to Boardwalk and rent a surrey bike, etc. There is lots of dining nearby, too. Sometimes we get on the Friendship boat and just relax as it goes to Epcot, BW, Swan/Dolphin and DHS - we don't get off...just enjoy the ride.

Beach Club and Animal Kingdom are the top two so far on my list. We stayed at BC for the first time last trip for 3 nights before our cruise and only swam in pool one day We wished we had more time to enjoy the resort.

We will be going in December this time and I know the weather could be iffy. So I was leaning towards Animal Kingdom because it seems like there we be more to see/do if the weather was chilly. and we have never stayed there (we have only stayed at 5 on property resorts)

We've stayed at both AKL and BC for resort-only stays. We enjoyed both for that purpose, but for things to see and do (particularly in chilly weather) I'd definitely vote for BC. At AKL, we spent a bit of time looking at the animals, but most of our time at the Kidani and AKL pools. Since AKL is so contained, t's not as easy to access the shopping/dining at other resorts or take longer scenic walks. At BC, however, we enjoy quite a bit more: the marina and all the boat rentals there, the friendship boats and surrey bikes (as a previous poster mentioned), all of the shopping and dining at YC, BC, BWI, Swan and Dolphin within walking distance, the walk around Crescent Lake, all of the evening activities at the Boardwalk and the beach (our kids enjoyed the swings on the beach, even in chilly weather.) I remember enjoying a chilly resort day at BC in early January shortly after it opened in the early 90s - nice to sit near the pool and on the beach overlooking the lake!

I used to say Poly was on my bucket list. But now there are just SO many great resorts it's hard to narrow it down! I do try and stay somewhere new each time I go. We usually do PO, AK, and something else. Last time was AoA....I would love to stay at the beach club and Boardwalk one day! PO is my home though.

I have so many on my list that I want to stay at. I've only stayed at Art of Animation, Animal Kingdom, and Bay Lake! Poly, Wilderness Lodge, and the Grand are the top 3 that I really want to stay at!!

We are staying at AKL for our no parks trip because it isn't somewhere we would stay if we were going to the parks. It's a chance to eat at those restaurants and see the lodge without having to commute to the parks.

AoA might be a fun place to stay for a resort day. I've seen incredible photos from around the resort. Definitely want to try it one day

I'd say any of the MK resorts as you can enjoy your resort pool, lots of dining at all the resorts, so you can resort hop on monorail or boat to enjoy dining and shopping at the other resorts, and still enjoy watching Wishes and Electric Water Parade too.
And Epcot resorts would be fun too. Walking around to dine & shop. Can watch Illuminations from bridge between BC & Boardwalk.

We've had resort days at the BC, YC, CR, GF, CSR and this coming August, have one planned at the Poly. We absolutely love the BC/YC for the great pool, restaurants and of course you're right next to the Boardwalk which we enjoy walking around and taking in the sights. In December though, I'd almost lean towards a MK resort though as Sue M mentioned. December weather can be iffy so you may not be able to take full advantage of the pool but being on a monorail resort, you'd have the ability to resort hop and take in each resorts' holiday decorations and also have a nice viewing of Wishes and the water parade. Tough Choice!

The grand, wilderness lodge and YC are my top 3 I want to visit! I would also throw Poly in there as well! So far I have been to Bay Lake, Animal Kingdom and Art of Animation. We should have visited the pools at A of A but time is limited when you have to conquer the parks

I will depart from the others and say a FW cabin. Have camped in a tent there but didn't have time to do many of the activities at the campground.

I am personally not a pool person, I'd rather be doing something. So we are actually doing a resort day as well at the beginning of our trip and I went with AKL. It's one of those resorts that I will probably never stay at for the full length of a trip because it's kind of expensive and we spend so much time at the parks, that I'd probably never take full advantage of the resort. We booked an ADR at Jiko and went with a Savannah view. We're just going to spend the day exploring the hotel and animals. Another good option IMO would be Boardwalk Inn. Lots to do at the resort, plus close to 3 other resorts. Place is really active at night if that makes any difference to you.
