The dates are : Feb 2-6 2004 or
May 10-14 2004
Thanks for your input!!

I would go in Feb. The crowds are low in early Feb and I would want to get away from the cold. Not sure how cold it gets where you are, but in May it is warming up and the flowers are coming out (in MA) so I don't like to leave then.

Have fun deciding!

I would choose May. For me Florida is about the warmth and tropical feeling. When I was there the end of January is was freezing on most of the nights. I like the balmy warm nights. It has been in the mid nineties during the day sometimes in May but I still love it. The crowds are not big. The flowers are in bloom all over and in particular at the Flower and Garden Festival at Epcot.
I have been 6 times in the first 3 weeks of May. Once in the very end of January and once the last week of August. All were good trips but the May trips are the best.

May is one of the most beautiful times here in Florida!! you cn use the pools but at night its comfortable.
I would say May.

The first few weeks in May have to be one of the best times to visit WDW. I would go every year during this time if I could....Florida at it Best:sunny:

I've been to WDW in early February and early May, and MAY wins, without a doubt. In February it was too cold to swim, even during the day in the heated pool. My teenaged niece braved the pool for a few minutes one day but then got out. Also, it got dark earlier in the evening in February than it did in May. That may or may not matter to you. It wasn't a big deal, but it felt like the days were a bit longer in May, due to the sun being out longer. In May the weather was perfect, low crowds, and it wasn't too cold at night or too hot during the day. Of course we can't control the weather, but this was my experience when we went.

You'll have a wonderful time no matter when you go, afterall it's DISNEY WORLD. But I thought I'd give my opinions :)

Hmmmm... that's a hard choice. The crowds will be smaller in early Feb., but they are pretty good in May too. In May of '01 we had highs in the mid 90's! So it can get pretty darn hot. I guess it depends on how the weather affects your personal enjoyment.

We loved it last year and are going again this year (of course we are going in Feb too).

The parks were not crowded except for MK on Saturday. We had short waits, weather was warm but not stifling. The Flower and Garden Festival @ Epcot was gorgeous amd we even enjoyed some of the Star Wars weekend events (and we are not really die-hard Star Wars fans...).

I vote for May.

When my kids get older, and we don't have to plan trips around their school schedule, we hope to visit twice a year - in early May and in early December. That way, we can see the Christmas decorations with low crowds, and we can have a "summer" visit with pools, water parks and the Flower and Garden Festival, also with low crowds! :sunny:

May

The one Feb trip I had, we wore our winter coats after the sun went down.

I think you can't go wrong with either early Feb. or May!

We went last year in early February and had a wonderful trip. It was very warm - warm enough to swim!! We wore shorts everyday and it was so enjoyable missing a snowstorm at home!!! :) The crowds were extremely low and it was such a pleasure walking around the parks. We are going to go again this February because we just loved our mid-winter thaw break!! Hoping for more warm weather. That being said I'm sure May is also very enjoyable.

Another vote for MAY, probably because it'll be more warm. That is a big decider for my family.

Well, my first thought is to say February - BECAUSE IT'S SOONER. But, realistically, I think May is best. Early May is beautiful - crowds aren't bad and the weather is nice. In Feb, I think you run the risk of so/so weather. Also, in May you've got the International Flower & Garden Festival to enjoy and it's breathtaking!!!

We usually go the last week in May and thoroughly enjoy ourselves.

but of course i'm from MA. I'm looking to get away from the cold! We did early Feb last year and it was nice. We did wear sweatshirts in the AM, sometimes PM, but was warm during the day. Kids even swam at night a couple times (remember we're from MA so it was warm enough for them, lol!)

Crowds were really low because we went before vacation week. We pretty much walked onto most rides. That was a biggie for us! I'd rather take a little cooler and no crowds to waiting in warm/hot weather with a crowd:D

Flower and Garden festival and the Flower Power Concerts in the World Showcase

May all the way! We go every year in May and love it. The best part is the Flower and Garden Fest at EPCOT. All the landscaping at Disney is beautiful.
Good luck!

May.
I think the weather will be more to my liking in May, I don't mind wearing jacket and long pants but I really don't want to wear a winter coat. Of course February could have some warm days, but that is a gamble. I also think more rehabs would be likely in February than in May and the F&G festival at EP is really quite impressive.

... I'd vote for February! I've been in late January, early Feb. and mid Feb. and although there were some coldish days in that timeframe (mid 60s during the day), most of the days were in the 70s-80s and sunny. The crowds on all trips (except over President's Day weekend) were minimal. I've also been in mid-May (18-22) and have several friends who went the first week of May. We all found the crowds to be moderate (definitely not as low as in February) and the heat to be rather unpleasant for touring the parks. I would probably avoid going in May in the future for these reasons, though the flower and garden festival is pretty. If you don't mind the heat (mid 90s) and moderate crowds, however, May may be the better choice. Also, if you don't want to run the risk of encountering a few days in the 60s or 70s, then May may be a better choice. I have never not been able to swim at all during a February trip, though there were a few days on 1 trip when it was too cold for me and dh (though not for our kids!!).

Whatever you decide, I'm sure you'll have a GREAT time!!

Good luck deciding,
Sarah

We have gone at the end of May and it's been hot. Since I love the Flower and Garden Festival, and swimming weather we're trying the beginning of May this year.

So, another vote for your May dates!

:D

I vote for May! the weather is awesome...it will be hot(mid 90's)but not as humid as later in the summer...rainfall amounts tend to be less in may as well as compared to the summer months...the grounds look awesome in may!! the flowers are so gorgeous during this time of year.....if your kids are into the water: may is a much better time for the pools and the water parks...
