If you got sick after eating at a WDW restaurant would you go back to it?

I know the title may seem a bit weird but please hear me out. In December 2004 my family & I had 2 ADR's planned for Boma. The day of the 1st one I did not eat a big lunch knowing that later in the day I would be having a big dinner, so at the Belz Factory Outlet Mall I had a Hot Dog & French Fries. Hours later I was taking a shower & something in my stomach did not feel right, so I got myself some Sprite which I thought would help. Well after going to bed I woke up & ran right into the bathroom & threw up. I thought the worst was over but then I threw up 2 more times. I thought I got sick from something I had at Boma, which was seemed right at the time. Not wanting to take any chances the next morning my family & I had cancelled our 2nd ADR for Boma which was set for the very next day. Later on my parents were telling me that they think I got sick from the Hot Dog because it must have been under - cooked. I think they are correct about that because non of them got sick that night, however I thought to myself with what came out of me could have not been from just 1 Hot Dog. Anyway ever since that night we have not been back to Boma because I would not want to risk getting sick again & I am sure some of it is psychological because Boma was the last place I had eaten at. However if it was from the Hot Dog & not the food from Boma do you think I should give it one more try? As of right now if I had to make a decision I would rather eat at the Golden Coral Buffet because I think you get more of a selection of food & it's cheaper then going to Boma. Anyway what are your thoughts on this subject, so any answers you can give I would appreciate.

:lmao: She ate at a hot dog in America at the WS. She was violently ill by the end of the evening and stayed that way for 2 more days. The thought of even smelling the food there does her in, and to this day (2.5 yrs later) she won't even touch a hot dog. There is no way I could even talk her into trying anything in America at the WS.

No no no! lol

I got sick after eating at Boatwright's and the idea of ANY grits, steak, and eggs (that combo-not the three separately) makes me gag. I can still smell it. Blurgity blurg!!!! lol

Sandy :)

I was extremely, extremely ill after eating fried chicken at the 50's Primetime and I can't step foot in that restaurant without feeling sick. No one else in my family got sick (they all had the chicken as well) so I know it wasn't the food, but in my mind I have associated the two!

I've never gotten sick at WDW, but I have gotten food poisoning from some french toast I ate at a diner here at home. I chalked it up to one bad egg and I've been back at that diner, eating french toast regularly. It's really good there and I've never had a problem since. Freak thing, really. I prefer to get back on the horse.

I'm goofy that way. So far I won't be going back to Fulton's, Sci-Fi, & Wolfgang Pucks, luckily there are a lot of places to eat at WDW. I also got sick from Peco's Bills, but I know that was due to being on an antibiotic and prednisolone at the same time. I get sick from things that others can eat with no problems. Immune sys isn't so good. I'm thinking of packing some pbj for the next trip.

I got really sick once soon after eating Indian food. I know for a fact that it wasn't food related (my family members all caught it from me and got sick a few days later -- food poisoning isn't catching) but I still can't eat Indian food.

Just my luck I pick something relatively healthy and non-fattening to get sick on! :rotfl:

I got really sick after eating at Rose & Crown, but that was definitely due to riding Mission: Space a few hours before. After that ride I wasn't right for a whole day, and putting bangers and mash into my stomach was the WRONG idea!

I don't blame R & C, but to this day, I still remember spending a fair amount of time in the bathroom in America after our dinner... Oof. :crazy2:

We have found that with food poisoning, it hits you about 5 hours later. DH got a nasty case of this from an Italian counter service spot in Future World that is no longer there. He ordered an italian meat sandwich. He will no longer eat deli meat sandwiches anywhere at WDW. He will eat them around here, but not at WDW. :confused3

Persona;;y I would not go back to any restaurant that made me barf! I hate having any kind of stomach bug bacause I get very sick for a couple days and usually end up hospitalized due to dehydration. Anyway I think the hotdog made you sick and once your stomach is aggrevated anything you eat is coming back up. Sorry to be so grose.

Mmm.. probably not. I got sick from Trails End Buffet and I don't plan on visiting again. lol

I'd go on ahead to Boma. By the sound of your post and the timing of your sickness...IF it even was food poisioning... it more than likely came from the Hot Dog.

funny thing is....its NOT WHAT YOU ATE THAT YOU REMEMBER...

ITS WHAT YOU SAW COME OUT OF YOUR NOSE, (AND OTHER PARTS) THAT IS FREAKING YOU OUT!

Your just associating your food poisening with Boma because that is what you threw up....chunks of african fare, not chunks of funky hotdog.

On another note....90% of what people THINK is food poisoning is really a 12-24 hour stomach bug. It really is very rare to vomit from funky food, but stomach bugs are on every door knob, bench and TABLE at disney...just waiting for your bare hands to touch. yup yup yup :crazy2:

DH got very sick after eating at Alfredos in WDW....we will never return there.

Years ago, my little sister got sick eating at the Rainforest Cafe' at Animal Kingdom. That paired with the atrocious service, we've never been back, and wouldn't recommend the place to anyone.

Consider the thousands of people that eat at Boma everyday. IF you truly did get food poisoning from the food, there would be hundreds more just like you. Food poisoning at large facilities impacts large numbers of people. Contrary to previous poster, different bacteria manifest symptoms in a wide variety of time frames (anywhere from 2 hours to 48 hours). It's impossible to conclusively state you got sick at BOMA without other patrons having gotten sick as well. CDC standard is 2 or more non related people getting the same illness from the restaurant.

I was extremely ill after having the Chicken puke pie at the Prime Time Cafe. Within 2 hours I was violently ill felt horrible for about 3 days. Put a big damper on our trip, and other meals likethe Poly Luau which I could barely touch a thing.

I don't think I want to go back to PTC

Have never gotten sick at WDW (thank goodness), but over the years I have discovered that I am very highly allergic to an undertermined "spice." I have had 3 episodes of throat itching and swelling, severe abdominal pain, and unnatural things coming from everywhere, with each episode resulting in a trip to the ER! Once this happened at Ruby Tuesday, then at Shoneys, then again at a church meal, each time me being the only person that got sick. I wonder if other people have the same type of thing to certain additives, but we just dont know what they are. Needless to say, though, I have not eaten at any of those places since.
