If you get "stuck" on a ride

We've been stuck twice. Once inside Roger Rabbit in the area with the big mouth that opens and closes, the machine mouth. LOL We sat there forEVER!!!! Thank GOD they turned the sounds off, we sat there for about 10 minutes with them on. They came around and offloaded us, took us out the way we came in so we excited through the front. There were still people in line but the CM's were saying they didn't how long it was going to be down etc etc. We got a front of the line pass for the 3 of us (DBF wasn't able to stay that whole trip, he couldn't get off work so we left early Monday morning via plane) so we took it everywhere to use it and there were little to no lines so no one would take it! LOL Finally we got smart and used it for Peter Pan. LOL NO wait for us!! YAY!!!!

Then on a seperate trip we were on the car for Indy, we were having our belts checked and the ride was shut down. No one knew for how long and we got front of line passes for that too. The only restriction for these is you are unable to use them for Nemo.

On another trip we were at Splash close to boarding and they shut it down, no idea how long and they did not give us front of the line passes, we even asked and complained and were told no. I'm sure if we had made the trip to Guest Relations we could have gotten something but we just let it go.

So, it sounds like you get the passes on some rides but not all of them.

You've gotta be kidding STUCK on SCREAMING!!!! Looks like it was at the top of a hill too! Yikes!!!:sad2: :sad2: :sad2: That's okay, give me one of those harnesses and I'll get myself down. Don't want to ride it the rest of the way after a MALFUNCTION!

.

We were on the final brake run behind the station when we stopped. The guy in the photo and another came up with two regular CM's. Anywhere there are brakes on a coaster there is a gantry. The two harnessed guys released each row a row at a time and then we stepped on to the gantry, which is where I took the photo from. Once everybody was off they walked us down the stairs and out into the regular park. They gave us the passes as we got to the gate back into the park.

The harnessed guys were great, so calm and methodical in all that they did. Some people had started to get upset at being stuck, but they got them calmed down and off safely.:thumbsup2

At least it wasn't upside down or something silly like that, that would have sucked. Or like these poor girls:

Dh has ridden the sling shot on top of there, but wouldn't do any of the others, he says they are too "nuts" :rotfl: .

Getting stuck on rides is the reason that I always use the restroom if I need to BEFORE getting on a ride!

Ive been stuck on several rides before because they were backed up such as Its a small world, pirates etc and have never been given front of the line passes. But then again some of those rides are to be expected. We were stuck in the haunted mansion a few times stalled but it was cool cause both times we were over looking the ball room scene.

We were stuck on Pirates for over an hour last June. It was not fun, little kids and babies screaming and crying. People saying they needed to use the bathroom! For us it was right after the last drop, and there wasn't much to look at. I felt really bad for the people behind us who were stuck right before the first drop, in the DARK!

We had to be evacuated off the boats. They had our boats go forward to an area they could get to us. Unfortunately the boat in front of us kept going for some reason, right in to the darkness!! I'm hoping that was done on purpose, and that they had someone waiting to take them off the boat up there, but I don't know! It was pretty cool to be evacuated though, even got to see what looked like a CM break room! :)

We only got a pass to one ride (and it said NOT Nemo, which I thought was lame). It was a lot of wasted time for us, and we almost missed our ps for the Blue Bayou. But that's the way it goes! The ride was down the entire time we were at the Blue Bayou too.

Well we've been stuck due to backups many times, that's different. The times we got the passes we were ON the ride and had to be removed. And the rides then closed down for an extended period.

The very first time I rode Indy the ride stopped. We like the OP had to sit in the jeep for about 40 minutes until they came around with step stools to evacuate us. Basically the ending of the ride was ruined for me.... but it was neat to see it with the lights on. All I remember is the CM saying stay close to the wall stay close to the wall. We did get FP tickets to come back later.

One time Space Mountain stopped. It was for about 15 minutes and we just finished the ride with the lights on. We got to ride it again without getting off so I don't know what happened.

Got stuck on the lift hill of the Matterhorn once a couple of years ago - about 3 ft from the top - all we got was a nice LONG, escorted walk down the stairs with the work lights on, an apology that it was down, and a "check back in an hour or so" from the CM's.

Years ago I got stuck on the Skyway once over TL for about 20 minutes with a "jerky" friend who loved rocking it back and forth. That was NOOO fun.

Agreed that it's hit or miss. I was stuck on Star Tours once and they gave us front of the line passes (one per group since you could use it for up to six people) for one ride of our choice (used it on Matterhorn) and were also given the opportunity to go in another one of their Star Tours ride rooms through the exit before the opened up the entrance side asap. On another trip I got stuck on Splash Mountain and was given no compensation (although I did see Pooh walking around backstage...thank goodness he was still in full costume or else that would have been really weird).

We got a front of the line, go to the exit, pass for any thing pass for this on CS.:thumbsup2 I have to say also that the guys who got us down were great, made a point in telling customer services about them they were that good at gettig us of calmly and safely.

Also got a similar pass at MK WDW when BTMRR stopped while we were still in line. We were nearly on the ride, but even so it wasn't like we had to be escorted off or anything.

AAAACCCCCCKK! :scared1: Exactly what I narrowly escaped. Glad to hear they calmed everyone that was stuck. What had me freaking out at the thought was that I would have been on there using a child swap pass, and my Dramatic dd(2) would have been with my older ds(21) and his gf(18) waiting for me. They would have needed to send someone to calm THEM down... I could hear my dd now
"Mama's all STUCK up there; waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaant Mamaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa"
:lmao:

All these stories are great. Especially love the stuck pic. Strange it is random as to how cm's/DL handles each circumstance.

We were stuck on Buzz for about 20 minutes during our last trip. Although we were offered no fastpasses, we did get very high scores. ;) Of all the rides to be stuck on, this might be one of the best--at least there's something to do while you wait.

The Nemo subs or Screamin' would be the absolute worst rides to get stuck on. I can't even imagine getting stuck on those.

We were stuck going up the big hill on Splash Mtn. It was my little guy's first time to go on and he was scared to death:scared1: , no FP for us , never thought about it , just relieved to be off! Luckily it did not scare him from riding it again

We were stuck at the end of CA Screamin in Oct. That was the worst feeling in the world being stuck in my seat and not being able to go anywhere. I started to panic, but my DH calmed me down.

If they do not offer you compensation in the form of at least a FP, ask for something, esp. if you had been waiting 45 minutes to get off as that's 45 minutes you could have been waiting for something else (even if it was the end of that ride, doesn't matter, again you could have been waiting for something else).

I have been stuck on:
  • Splash Mountain (at the end for about 5 minutes, so I didn't worry about it), another time was just after it had first opened we were waiting in the three or four hour long line and it broke down just before we were about to board and got reentry passes for Star Tours and Splash Mountain.
  • Grizzly River Run (about an hour and a half in the sun @ over 100 degrees at the end of the ride (I didn't even get wet during that ride) and all that they wanted to give was a FP, I explained to them that would not be adequate, I ended up with a ticket to bring a friend on another day and a voucher for two free corn dogs and two drinks, all I asked for was the ticket, but as the lady put it, because I was nice and patient she wanted to give me the other as well).
  • Pirates of the Caribbean (about 30 minutes as the boat right before the dock to disembark.) They were not going to give anything until I pointed out that I could have been waiting for something else. They then gave me two reentry tickets for a group of up to 6 people each.
  • Rocket Rods (About 10 minutes towards the end, we got three or four reentry passes a piece for that one without even asking for anything, they actually handed them to us before getting us out of the vehicles).

I know that there have been many others, but those are the ones that I can think of at the moment.

We hav been stuck for a short time on several things, but once we were stuck for a long time (30-45 min.) on Space Mountain. They had to turn on all the lights, and the CM's had to start at the bottom and push the cars one by one to get them going down the track. I don't remember if we got anything; I was too busy being excited about seeing Space with all the lights on! (It is actually just really ugly gray metal, and the tracks are never close to each other, despite my mom's worry that her head is going to get sliced off every time.) We were pretty high up, so we were in there for awhile. I actaully felt bad 'cause one of the CM's was this skinny little kid, and he looked so worn out by the time they got to us.

Everytime I go on POTCpirate: (first ride of my visits) it breaks down . And everytime i have gotten a FP for up to 2 people. Last time I was there Space Mountain was having "issues" and they gave us all FP we were at the front of the line just about to get on the ride. I thought that was awesome of them.
