If you drive on Disney property, READ THIS!

Yes good point. Wasnt saying "people dont understand" with a mean intent. But with the idea, of once they do, the signage will get you there. And if you miss a turn or exit, there will be another way just up the road.

One thing to remember about driving around Disney:

If you are lost, and see a sign "ALL GUEST AREAS" "this exit" or "Next Left" etc. Follow this sign, if you don't, you will most likely leave Disney Property. Following this sign will get you back into the areas you want to be.

Someone impatiently honking is just rude.

It is amazing how fast you can catch yourself driving... and yet people are passing....

I will make sure to keep an eye on my speedometer!

We saw a similar sign "Other Guest Areas" in January. We were joking that we sure would like to see those "Other" areas but never found them! :earboy2:

IMHO the problem is not speed - its people who don't know what they are doing realizing at the last minute they should have been in the other lane and need to turn off RIGHT NOW! Will the OC SD be ticketing those people? Or is this just going to be a revenue producing speed trap thing?

If this agreement is with Orange County sheriffs, does that mean we can still speed on the roads that are in Osceola County? :) OK, just kidding.

Ya could but Osceola Parkway is already heavily patroled by the staties. They hang out right at the Welcome to WDW sign.

I used to live in Kissimee and took this road into WDW all the time. Knowing that the staties often sits at the sign, I go the speed limit. I used to just smile at all the people who passed me..many beeping at me and giving not so nice hand signals (yes for doing the speed limit), got pulled over.

I hope they are cracking down on stupid and agressive drivers. Around here if you cop (no pun intended) a "me" attitude and pull some of that garbage on the streets here they pull you over, ask you what gave you the right to pull something so stupid and cause a bunch of near accidents. Then to top it off, they give you a $500 ticket. Yeah, $500. There have been WAY too many rich, snobby, holier and better than thou art idiots moving here to get some of that small town Mayberry feel. The police are tired of the attitude.

Indeed, Florida Highway Patrol will be activly involved with on property patrols.

A similar story... I was driving down the 408, which is a 55mph highway. I was doing 55mph, and most people were doing about the same. At any rate, I look in my rearview mirror, and there is this big honkin SUV tailgating me, and can't seem to pass me. He was furious that I was going so "slow" and decided to flash his lights at me to let me know. So all of a sudden, he gets the opportunity to pass, and he flies by me, with a non-Disney gesture. I'm muttering to myself, "where's a cop when you need one..." All of a sudden, out of nowhere, an OCSD patrol car spots him, and nabs him. JUSTICE!

I like that they'll be stepping up speed limit enforcement on property, however, I wish they could standardize the speed limit throughout property. I think Osceola Parkway goes from 50 to 40 to 45 to 40, just in the stretch between WWOS and AK.

I feel that each trip we drive, we feel more comfortable being on property and driving. But every once in a while, I still get confused, a sign to turn slips up on me, and I have to get to the next exit to turn around. But all in all, its not bad. But I do not dare shift 3 lanes just to save time. Dont do it at home, wont do it there.

I agree completely, those changes in speed make no sense, it should all be 45 or 50.

I'm with you! If you miss a turn, just go down to the next legal turn or exit and safely make your way back. I also rarely make a left hand turn across traffic. I just don't understand why people are (1) in such a huge hurry (2) can be so reckless while driving (yakking on cel in heavy traffic, not using signals, speeding, running lights)..It's really bad in my hometown. If you've ever seen a really bad accident, its not something you forget.

Just after the bridge over the swamp, it goes from 50 to 45... if you bear left, to bypass the toll plaza, it then drops to 40.

On the reverse, it's 40 up until the toll plaza, then 45 until the BVD bridge when it resumes 50mph.
