Marathon Weekend 2026

You will want to be at the Poly first. As in the past, the runners were put in the far lane from the resort, separated by the impenetrable line of cones. The difference is that they will be running toward GF instead of from it. The Poly is around mile 7.5 and the TTC is about mile 11.5. With this, you could potentially monorail to the Poly, spectate, walk to the TTC, spectate, and then monorail back to BLT. Of course it's always an option to just get off at the TTC and walk to Poly and then walk back to spectate again, depending on how mobile your parents are and how much walking you want to do. (This is assuming I'm not mis-remembering how that whole monorail loop works. *sigh* )
Thanks for this! Sounds like the Poly will still be a long distance wave at the runners, and then TTC may be the actual opportunity to high-five/quick picture/etc. Resort monorail is usually clockwise (quick trip BLT->TTC heading to the race, but long trip around coming back), so we'll make sure to plan accordingly

I wish they would use better lighting on some of these, it makes it hard for me to determine what color they really are…
I like the impression of the runDisney Mickey on the rD shoe. But I’m not sure if an Adrenaline will work for me. I didn’t like the way they fit last year. Also, I tried the regular Ghosts on at Halloween Half and did t like those either. I do like the Ghost Max 2s, so maybe the 3s would be similar?? But I just need to see a better picture of those castle shoes.
Adrenalines are a support shoe, for pronating. So if you are not someone who needs that, it would probably be best to avoid them unless it's just for like....walking around.

Yeah, generally these are for walking around. A few years ago, I did use the Adrenalines for walking around - a couple different versions. Then something changed and I didn’t like them as much.
I used to run in support shoes, but then I think I decided that the support that was trying to keep my foot from over-pronating, was probably what was causing half my feet to go numb (rocking my feet too much to the outside and putting too much pressure on the outside toe area). I found some mild support shoes in a New Balance until they completely changed the shoe when they came back after COVID. Now I run in a neutral ASICS. Some neutral shoes I can feel my feet rotating in, so it really is a balance between which work for running.

Oh no….. the marathon weekend shoe looks purple! Just take all my money!

We can only buy one in our size right? My son would love those Chip and Dale shoes.

@AZMermaid Below is the info from rundisney about the shoes. The short answer is one size per style of shoe per adult present in your group. So if you were *only* buying shoes for your son, or were buying a different style for yourself I think you'd be OK?

Thanks! This reads like there’s only a limit on day one? In a perfect world I’m getting the castle one, Mickey for DH and Chip and Dale for son. But I also won’t be at the expo till Friday afternoon, so we’ll see how that pans out. So much for just bringing a carry on. 😂

Correct! I purchased a pair of Mickey shoes for myself and a pair of the weekend shoes for my nephew at SS without issue.

Is there a significant difference between the ghost 2 and 3? DH really likes the weekend shoe and tried the 2s on at the local sporting goods store (no time to stop at the running store today) but if the 3s DID have a big change I would make him go to Fleet Feet tomorrow.

Yeah - no carryon for me. And I have to be super careful about even my checked luggage because I head straight to meetings in TX without going home first so all my running gear + any souvenirs is going to have to come with me. It might be a mistake for me to show the Brooks photos to DW and DS

I have both and to me, the Ghost 3s feel a bit stiffer but not significantly different. I wear my Ghost 2s for walking around the parks and do my shorter runs in Ghost 3s.

That's good to know - that likely means the mens are similar too and it doesn't seem like there are 3s available in my size(s) and my nearby stores - but they have 2s. I want to try them on here because I think I'm going to have limited expo time Thursday so want to avoid the extra step of trying them on in FL.

If anyone needs an extra boost of encouragement re: masking as prevention, I’ll add my periodic input that I’ve been using KN95 masks in indoor spaces since 2021 and haven’t had a cold, the flu, COVID, RSV, or any respiratory illness in that time. Meanwhile nearly my entire office right now has the flu. Masks work.

They do not, sadly, do much for food poisoning, though. Nailed by something at WDW in Dec. and haven’t been right since. :headache:

To second this, last year there was a woman absolutely HACKING next to me all through a show, and I had put on an N95 right when she sat down and managed to not get sick. In contrast, that summer I had the experience again and didn't have a mask on me, and promptly got sick 4 days later. As I said though, this superflu has taken out friends that are typically similarly cautious and vaccinated, so best to air on the safe side.

My condolences! Sadly not my first experience, either. This trip it was either Nomad Lounge or QS at CSR - I choose to believe it was CSR LOL!
I chose to second that it must be CSR, with no info whatsoever, as I too don't want to believe it of Nomad lounge!

To second @The Expert , the limit is one per style and size. I bought one each of the two different styles halloween weekend, first day without issue. You'll be fine buying them, getting them home afterwards is another story! Although, at Halloween, they did have the option of buying them at the expo and having them shipped directly home. I don't know if that was just because they quickly ran out of expo stock on the first day and needed to ship from the warehouse, but it wouldn't hurt to ask.

Thanks everyone for the feedback! As it turns out…. He liked the C/D shoes but was not very convincing that he would wear them. He said maybe in the parks 😂 so that saved me some money!

This is weird, the blog post says:

“Please note: There will be a limit on quantities per person on the first day of the expo – two of each design (10 pairs total) per adult purchaser.”

I noticed that too. Suspect the two each is new so that people could buy matching men's and women's pairs? It's not like they've had issues with sell-outs with the exception of the DL Halloween design.

Seconding this, only times I've been sick in the last 5 years have been times when I had to unmask around groups of people for one reason or another. Wish that I'd skipped those other times, covid messed up my joints and they haven't really bounced back. Neither has my sense of smell.
