First, we did a Disney cruise last April and loved, loved, loved it. This was the first cruise with our kids and they had so much fun. I started to look for next April or maybe the end of June (7 day) and :earseek: :faint: on the pricing.

I know there are some veteran cruisers here, so with your kids - mine are 9 (DD and DS) could you recommend another cruiseline? Which ship? There has got to be more reasonable pricing.

Thanks and have a great day!

We have done an RCL cruise and enjoyed it. We are going on DCL in June - have you tried cruise compete? We got several great bids from them and saved a great deal compared to the DCL website. Try that before switching cruise lines.

What is cruise compete? Any info would be great!

i would like information on cruise compete as well is it a website?

The website is cruisecompete.com. I've never used them.

We enjoyed our NCL cruise, which surprised us, as we had read some negatives on cruisecritic. I thought the food and service was excellent. I enjoyed the adult activities offered. The child care seemed a little lacking though, so DD (12 almost 13) elected to spend most of her time with us.

We didn't care as much for our RCCL Radiance of the Seas to Alaska. The staff wasn't as friendly, and the adult activities weren't that great. But, MY DD enjoyed the kids program almost as much as DCL, so with your kids' ages, I think I would look to RCCL. I have read good reports, I think we just went into it expecting Disney. The mega-ships look really interesting.

Sorry I should have posted the website when I last posted. I used them for my mom's last cruise and got a wide range of offers so read every offer carefully. Mom and her roommate each ended up paying several hundred dollars less than their friends that booked the same cruise so it was very competitive.

The website is www.cruisecompete.com

I have heard good things about RCL Mariner of the Seas. It too goes out of Port Canaveral on alternating Western and Eastern Itineraries.

You might want to look into that. The prices are pretty reasonable too.

We've done 2 Princess cruises, one with the kids this past July over in Europe and I have another one planned for March 2006. While I would love to do another Disney cruise, Disney is $4000 for the same week on the Magic than the 7 night Princess cruise and one of our cabins on this is a mini-suite. Princess has also now added upgrades amenities for the minisuites including luxurious beds and bedding, champagne on arrival, full hot breakfast, a pillow menu, and luxurious towels. I love Disney but just can't justify spending another $4000 more and be in a lower category cabin to boot!

You're saying the Disney Cruise is $4k more than the Princess cruise - eek! Can you tell me who you are using as a travel agent? Also, which Princess ship are you/have you taken? When you speak of the minisuite, what does Princess call these rooms?

Thanks for the info.
