goods for a few months, how many copies of the Sunday paper do you get?

Just curious.

i don't get any sunday papers. If I need coupons, I get them from ebay or a coupon service. It's cheaper than buying papers and they're already cut out for me.

I usually buy one or two then my mom gives me the coupons from her Sunday as does a lady at church!

But if I was buying, I'd probably get 3 or 4.

Oh... I almost forgot. For some reason, I get SS from the previous Sunday delivered FREE (have no idea how or why) with the postal service.

@Beansmom: I hear ya on the clipping thing! Though I'm really bad about clipping them, logging them onto trackmycoupons and then NOT putting them in my binder. For some reason, that's the part that just gets to me. I think its more or less that by the time I get done with the other two things one of my kids needs something! LOL

I follow a website that posts a coupon preview for the next Sunday's coupons. I base my decision on that. Sometimes I don't buy a newspaper because there are no coupons that I need/want. Also the Sunday paper doesn't always have coupons.

I have been ordering whole inserts online, but I have run into a big problem.....the coupons are NOT the same! I have about 25% of them as different than our local paper. I even try to order them as close to me as possible.

I don't get the ones already clipped anymore as I file by date of paper and only clip what I need/want based on SouthernSavers.com

I tried organizing them into a binder and clipping everything but it is so overwhelming for me. The already clipped ones still needed trimming to fit into the binder, etc....

I'm with the other poster, I buy on ebay or from a clipping service. It just seems easier that way to me. I still normally buy one paper though.

I get the Smart Source one from my freebie paper they throw every Friday. Then my Dad gives me his coupons- He buys 2 papers. I don't buy the paper.
I am averaging about a 50% savings each week lately. (No where near the 90% of the extreme ones but I actually buy what we need.)

The coupons tend to repeat - so for example I had 6 Lysol cleaner coupons and used all of them last week when it was on sale and I had a coupon.

I find there are 2 things that I am going borderline extreme hoarder and will be watching myself- it's Laundry detergent and Toothpaste. I can't pass it up when I am getting it for next to nothing. We are a family of 6 and go through a lot of it but I do have a decent stockpile right now.

I'll have to check out Ebay and clipping services.

We buy two but then my mom gives me hers and my grandma's, so I usually end up with 4 of most coupons. Since our stores limit to 4 of the same coupon, I am usually happy with 4.

It it is a great week for coupons then I will buy 5 papers from the Dollar Store. If there are specific coupons that I know I will use more of then I order those off ebay.

depending on the week 8.. 4 of each of my two local papers.

I also order some form ebay.

I have read several places that they suggest that you purchase one for every person in your household plus one paper- so for a family of three, you would buy 4 papers.

I agree mostly with Sarahlovy. I would purchase one for every memeber of your house hold. Only thing I would do different is to keep the amount of coupons even. Purchase in increments of 2,4,6 etc.. Just my .02

Ok, so that would mean 6 for us as we have 5 in our family.

Hmmmm.....that means I need to come up with $208 more. I could swing it, but would have to cut somewhere else.....maybe groceries for April! :hippie:

Have you thought about joining a coupon train? Ask family, neighbors, friends to save their inserts for you. Even ask on the boards some people might trade with you. HTH

I get 2 papers - the Chicago Tribune and the local county paper. The Tribune has good coupons but the local paper is hit or miss. Some of the same coupons but not all.

If there is a killer deal that I really want to get, I will just order coupons. I have only done this one, maybe two times. I purchased 20 coupons for Schick razor blades that were valued at $4 each. When the blades go on sale BOGOF, they were really cheap with the $4 coupons! (.99 each!!). I much prefer to get new blades rather than get whole razors (which I know I can usually get for .99). I can't think of any other time that I purchased coupons.

I do fine with the 2 (maybe) coupons that I get each week.

Honestly, I found it a huge hassle and I felt that I was hounding my friends. I didn't have anyone who said, "Sure, come get them." I found a lot of, "Well, I guess so" and then having to knock on the door to have them seem put out a bit (not rude really, just put out) to find the paper, etc....

It may just be my personality, I hate asking people to do things for me. I have friends who seem to get most of their neighbors' inserts without a problem, but they are better at hounding than I am.

I have no family nearby.

I typically buy 4 papers every week. I will occasionally buy coupons on ebay. The ones I usually buy on ebay are for like single bottle drinks (mostly propel), sometimes money making coupons. But, I typically am not interested in large quanties of any one coupon.

Your Sunday paper is $34 each? :confused3 If you mean for the month, $8 each?

We're a family of 4. I normally get 3 papers and if I know about a great sale that's coming up I will order more of the specific coupon from a clipping service or ebay.
