If you could stay at any DVC where would you stay and why?

A little background...I have two children DD8 and DS3. We will be renting a car. We will be staying in the month of April 2012. The third week to be exact.

I posted a poll as well. If you could stay at any DVC resort where would you stay and why? The only one we have stayed in thus far is BWV.

i've stayed at SSR, OKW, AKV-jambo and BLT and enjoyed all of them.

if i had little ones along for the trip and expected to spend a lot of time at MK, i'd try to get BLT or VWL.

my next trip, i'll probably be trying to get BCV for the easy epcot access...but that's a different situation.

BCV is truly our favorite because we just love the resort, but also because of the location. It's just perfect for us. BLT is another huge favorite of ours too. We love the location of that one also. We also love feeling like we are in the middle of everything, and we feel like that at both of these resorts. But if you really come down to it, we really love them all and will stay at any of them.

I voted for VWL because it is my absolute favourite DVC resort. I woudl think, for kids, BCV or AKV would be better but VWL holds a special place in my heart. My DS was 5 when we first stayed there and he absolutely loved it though - he loved the hidden mickey hunt, the boat to MK and the Contemporary and we all loved Roaring Fork.

We prefer OKW. Even though we own at AKV also, I like my original home of OKW.

It sounds like you are staying the whole month of April???? If so, then for sure OKW. We love the extra space of an OKW 2 bedroom villa, and there are 4 pool areas to choose from. The sandcastle slide at the main one is a big hit too, and there are always a lot of kids enjoying the activities.

We also like that it just feels like "home" to us. If, however, you feel you would benefit from being nearer to MK, then I would probably look at either VWL or BLT. Bear in mind though, that if you are staying a long time, BLT will be very point pricey during that high point time.

You don't say what size villa, but if you are staying a month, I'm going to assume either a 2 or 1 bedroom villa. I would never attempt a stay for 4 people of less than a 1 bedroom anyway. Even with children.

Beach club because of the pool. Our kids love the pool.

I voted for AKV. We enjoy the theme and watching the animals. We also like VWL theme and it has a great location with additional transportation options.

My home (BLT) isn't on the list, so I'll go with AKV. Especially since you are renting a car.

I voted VWL because of the boat ride to the MK and the nighttime water parade on Bay Lake.

Great responses, keep 'em comin'! BLT is not on the list because, quite frankly, it's just too hard to get. Plus, I'm not sure if we really like the whole "contemporary" feel.

Forgot about the water pageant. Yes, we will definitely have a rental car. My DH will not go to WDW without one.

I Vote AKV because you are renting a car. We have a 7 yr old, 3 yr old, and 18month old, and just staying in January for a week, and they loved it. If you didn't have the car, I would vote for our home resort which is BLT.

A whole month??? I am so jealous................

I would have voted BLT, especially for your kids ages, you'll probably spend a lot of time at MK. I went with AKV, beautiful decor, and it's great fun to watch the animals. Parking at Kidani is super convenient, and we found the bus service to be excellent. Enjoy!

I voted for BCV. But we haven't stayed at AKV yet. We will be doing that in May. The main reason I said BCV is for the pool area. The last two years we stayed at BCV because we had our small grandkids with us. It was great having a place like SAB because we ended up back at the resort swimming more than in the parks. The children's pool and sand play area at SAB is awesome!

Okay...You said "the month of April" and I took it to mean the whole month. Sorry. I agree...2 bedroom for that group ALWAYS. I too want my privacy. Since you own at AKV and can stay there any time, I do agree with the others that I would look to something else then. Are there any DVC resorts you haven't stayed at yet that you like? If it was me, my preferences would be in this order:
OKW
AKV
BCV
VWL
SSR
BWV
BLT

I voted for AKV one bc we own there and two because we feel like we r in our own little world at kidani. It isnt so big that I feel like u get lost. We love the feel Of AKV. Love the pool for the kids and it is quiet. Love looking at the animals too. It is very relaxing.

BCV gets my top vote.
AKV gets my second vote.

I'd stay at BLT because of the young kids and being so close to MK.
