If you could start a dream business, what would it be?

I have always wanted to start a HUGE scrapbooking store around here. We have nothing!!! I would have a awesome selection of supplies with a room in the back to hold crops and classes. If I could do that all day, I would be in my glory!!!

We had TWO in my are and BOTH went under ..........and I LOVE to scrap!

My actual goal is one just as yours!

I'm hoping to move and open a used/new book store with a small cafe.

A bar on a beach somewhere called "Flip Flops" since I'm always saying that I want to go to work in flip flops and shorts instead of dress shoes :)

I'd start a holiday decorating store. I'd carry tons of decorations for each holiday. I'd also love to do floral and gift baskets that could actually contain food items! LOL!

I'm very luckty to HAVE my dream job. We work at home selling proprietary products. No phone calls, all internet sales. USPS stops and picks up our shipments every day. We can sleep in every day, stay up late, travel whenever we want...it's all her doing, I am just extremely fortunate and thankful.

I'm working on it now... FINALLY.... I just signed up to take the SafeServe courses you need to open a restaurant..... I think I want to open a gourmet hot dog joint....

I'd like to open an elaborate indoor/outdoor putt-putt. It would be well landscaped with lots of perennials, fountains, waterfalls and challenging courses outside. Cool, changeable themes inside with a state of the art arcade, food court with standard and healthy, reasonably priced fare. Also I'd like to have indoor and outdoor playgrounds with neat themes for kids to climb, dig, tube, slide, and fun things to explore. Something for everyone. :)

Seriously? Are you a masochist?
I'm a .Net developer who tries as hard as possible to avoid ever touching Excel.

I do IT SOX Compliance and have my CISA. Just sitting there, making Excel turn tricks for me all day? My idea of a little corner of heaven.:cloud9:

I would open a respite center for kids with terminal illnesses and severe disabilities. Private rooms, a wonderful recreation program, therapies, caring staff... a place parents felt comfortable leaving their children and where the children could feel at home. Long term and short term stays. Ideally it would be non-profit and affordable. If only.:wizard:

I would love to own a scrapbook store and/or a organization type store- or just do personal consulting for either. Two of my favorite things. :lovestruc:lovestruc:lovestruc

I would love to have a wonderful place for a bridal consultant business, that had my own inside bakery, catering service, floral design (my first love and background), photography and etc.. This "wonderful place" would also cater events-weddings, showers, etc....

I know in my head what I want it to be...and it would be nothing short of spectacular.....

Maybe one day...In my dreams...

A store called "The Screaming Pink Flamingo" and selling only Flamingo merchandise; jewelry, plush, lawn ornaments, artwork, etc. Items not necessarily pink, but must be flamingos.

I would love to be a wedding consultant too! You're right though- no money invovled there but remember- this is a DREAM job. You clearly have all the money in the world..no need to worry about finances! :thumbsup2:laughing:

Oh well, in that case.... :goodvibes

Congrats and good wishes! It is VERY hard to find a good hot dog at a restaurant, so I think that would be a good idea. :goodvibes

I've always wished that someone in my town would open a tea shop - someplace that served light lunches and really good afternoon tea. Someplace like a slightly larger Starbucks (European contemporary rather than old-fashioned) where people come to hang out, but instead of coffee and boring dry large pastries, I'd like to go somewhere with beverages plus a selection of good small scones with devonshire cream, finger sandwiches, tiny moist cakes, little eclairs, tarts - well, you get the idea - mmmm.

I don't want to do it, but I sure wish someone would!

A bed and breakfast. My father's girlfriend runs one, I'll have to pick her brain on how to get started and what to expect, but I think it sounds like a lot of fun (hard work too I'm sure). I think it would be something I would do once retired, to suppliment my retirement income rather than to try and make a living out of it.

I know someone that has a very nice B&B for sale. I tell you though, it is a 24/7 job (which is why they are selling).

I always tell DH that when I win the lottery I am going to:

1) start a ferret rescue because so many of them get abandoned cause they are cancer prone when they get older.

2) Purchase a townhome at Windsor Hills and lease it to Disney vacationers. And if that works out, I'll purchase vacation homes other places I like and lease them too. :)

Oh, I'd like to be a travel writer too. But I just LOVE doing that so I'm going to be doing it on my blog for free. The one who REALLY has the dream job is the guy who wrote all the Hawaii revealed books and has done about EVERYTHING on the islands.

If having the $ (or should I say, $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$? :rotfl:) to invest were not an issue, I would so love to own a motel by Disneyland. Not just any motel, though...I'd love to open up a motel with a kitschy 1950s "space age" theme, like the one my family would stay in during out trips to DL when I was little. (With all the modern conveniences, of course).

I have always wanted to own an event hall. A place where receptions could be held and even weddings, holiday parties, birthday parties, etc. I would like to have different sized rooms at reasonable prices to rent along with kitchens that can be used by caterers or even events that are "family catered". I would want the building to be built with lots of character and for the grounds to have lots of beautiful landscaping so that one could have an outdoor wedding on property and then have the reception right after inside or out. The inside would be very generic so that any wedding color or themes would go. I would also like to be able to offering everything that the customer could want or need but also allow the customer to have just the hall and they could handle all the other stuff.

Just something that I've thought about every now and then. ;)

...I aready HAVE my 'dream job' [ I'm a 6th, 7th, & 8th grade math teacher]...however, I WOULD like to have MY VERY OWN ROOM, so that all my resources would be at my disposal and I wouldn't have to travel from room to room.....that OR training would-be CM's - of course, I'd have to visit WDW MANY times to spot-check just to make sure they are doing a good job...:teeth:

If you like to read you should read Nora Robert's newest series about brides it is what you describe right here lol.. Its 3 friends who own a beautiful property and one does the flowers, one the catering, the other is a photographer. I'd love soemthing like that too.

OK besides a wedding business like above, my husband and I would love to won either a comic book/video game store or a toy store. A pizza parlor has also been talked about lol
