If you could do it all over again, would you by direct or resale?

Bought resale. It was cheaper.

It would have been cheaper, on a per-point basis, to have bought directly from Disney.

Including all closing costs, I paid about $89 per point via resale, verses about $87 per-point from Disney (including their new closing costs).

On the other side of the coin, I didn't have to purchase more points than I really wanted (150 verses 120), and I got the Use Year I really wanted too. These issues factor into my cost analysis when I purchased resale.

I wouldn't do anything differently. First purchase was from Disney, an initial purchase into SSR (no used available and the best value going with th emost years). Second purchase was from TTS, great price (better than offers from disney for add ons. very happy with both transactions

I tried resale first, and had a similar experience to the poster above, who had the resale from H***. Mine was similar, except mine dragged on for 4 months, no communication, and the seller had to withdraw because they refused to pay some back maintainence fees. The resale company said they would work with me to find a contract, but I called Disney over the weekend, and on Monday I was in the system with a contract, while the resale company took another 6 months to call me back! In that time I had purchased two contracts, and two add-ons! So I would definitely do Disney again. Once I found Jaki, I did a resale with her that was painless, and that was a positive process as well. I also bought a contract direct from a seller, wouldn't do that again, though. I think you have to find the company that is a good fit for you, if you buy resale, but disney was a great experience for me.
