Would you rather do a 7 day cruise or spend 7 days at the Polynesian? I'm starting to think of next year and though this year I am doing both Disney World and the Disney Wonder, I think next year I'd like to stick with one for the whole 7 days. Any thoughts?

Next trip after the one we have booked will be a 7 day cruise
But we sure do like the poly:D

Cruise!

First, Mom is still "on duty" at the parks. You still have to plan everyone's activities, where/when we will eat, etc., then supervise the kiddos. On the cruise, it is much easier. Yes, you still have to make choices (will we eat at Lumiere's for lunch or a Pluto's?" but there is no wrong answer, and the family can do different things. There is a lot less walking on the ship....and more fun for the bucks.

That said, we've done both many times. I like the Poly, but didn't find it particularly "special" compared to other WDW resorts. Their upgraded pool is nice. For the money, I'd stay at Beach Club or Animal Kingdom Lodge....or on DCL points at any vacation club resort. But if I had to choose parks or cruise, I'd go with cruise...and DD (currently age 13) agrees.

7 day cruise.

I've done lots of WDW and have been on 2 cruises. I feel the cruise is the only place I really felt stress-free and dis-engaged from the world. In addition, since it's prepaid, I didn't feel like there was vacuum attached to my wallet everytime I sat down to eat.

7 day cruise! The Poly is beautiful and I love staying at the park, but give me a cruise. Total relaxation!

i'd rather do the cruise. more fun, relaxing and your pampered to no end.:)

I'd pick the cruise too!

Without a doubt, the 7 day cruise!!!

Without a doubt to the 7 day cruise! IMHO that is the ULTIMATE vacation, where you are guaranteed no stress and pure relaxation.

We did the 7 day last year and the Land and Sea this year...we are booked for the 7 day next year..Hands down the 7 day wins for me...

But......whichever you pick you are guaranteed a winner since they are both wonderful vacation choices that you can't go wrong with:)

NO cooking. NO crowds. NO worries. Always something new to do and you are always already "there". No buses, no waiting, no lines! Cruising baby, cruising.

Our first Disney experience was 4 days at the Poly and a 3 days on the Wonder. We got hooked on the DCL we booked the 7 day Magic while onboard. The park was fun, and we will go back again for sure, but not till we get our cruise fever under control! I wonder if I ever will?

Being the Disney addicts DH, DD and I are, this would've have been a tough decision after doing our first DCL. (They're both such wonderful vacations, it's like comparing apples to oranges.)

I vote w/the majority here, and say THE CRUISE!

It takes almost a week for our family to get our energy level back to par after WDW.

We did our second cruise last year, and DH and I were so hooked we both agreed, 'if we have to choose between the cruise and the parks, let's do the cruise!"

We're ready to sail the Magic again in May!

CRUISE!!! :boat:

Did you think you'd get any other answer on this board? :teeth:

We spent three nights at the Polynesian and our memory is of snakes coming out of the ground when the area flooded due to the rains. Nice memory, huh?

IF you have bad weather there, you will get wet and cold regardless of what there is to do - but if you are on the ship, you have plenty to do and will stay warm and dry!

Just my two cents,
Rae

You know...I totally forgot about the fact that if I'm not on a cruise I have a lot more work cut out for me!!! Cruise it is then!

Cruise, you don;t have to worry about dinner reservations, getting ice cream for the kids, keeping everyone amused, fighting long lines for attractions.....
I am a complete cruise believer:Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

Cruise!!! Total relaxation, all inclusive price, no need to entertain for anyone, etc. etc. etc.

Where else do they turn down your bed with fancy chocolates and put your napkins in your lap for you??

here's an additional question for those of you that have already answered ( Hope the OP doesn't mind me asking!)

Would you say that cruising on the ship is as "Disney" as the parks are? Will you get the Disney buzz you need? Do you feel and get the same magic?
