to Epcot's World Showcase, which country would it be and what would it be like?

I think it'd be neat to have an Egypt pavillion, with the pyramids and Sphynx. I'd put the main restaurant inside the Sphynx, and the main attraction in the pyramids, something with moving carrs which showcasse Egyptian culture and history...maybe an outdoor market between the two.

The only downside would be that the food would be a lot like in Morocco...as would the shopping. But I still think it would be cool to see the Pyramids and Sphynx in the distance as you walk through the World Showcase.

Any other ideas?

I would like to see a country from South America, maybe Brazil. I think it would be neat to create a Carnivale atmosphere. Plus, the food is intriguing.

Any country that has great food would be our choice!

Israel is a beautiful country (however, the food sucks); Egypt is beautiful too. Russia would be gorgeous -- there could even be an Ice Station Cool with vodka dispensers!

Australia. I can't take three weeks off to do a proper 'down under' vacation, but having them represented in Epcot would be a small consolation!

Australia,, South Africa, Russia.

Greece for the food and architecture...

Russia coud be neat...

Egypt would have a MUMMY ride...LOL

My fav would be Greece...the food alone would be worth it. :thumbsup2

Greece - the Greeks really were groovy (I study Classics and Ancient History in Uni)
Egypt - but as an Egyptologist (also - doing a Joint Hons!) I doubt that many of the general public would find true Ancient Egyptian history much to their taste.

It's either far more mundane than you would think (for example, we have a very good idea how the pyramids were built - and it doesn't involve aliens!), or culturally and socially unacceptable -

Nice picture, yeah? Akhenaten and Nefertiti with their daughters.
Until you realise that he married them all and had children with them. Not so sweet anymore, is it?

I guess a ride looking at the mummification process and how/why could be pretty good though.

Hmm.. I'm actually supposed to be working on my dissertation (The Importance of Magic in Ancient Egyptian Medicine) and two essays (Building the Red Pyramid and Egypt and the Sea Peoples in the Time of Ramesses III) for Egyptology as I type!
