Couldn't get into CM, so I think I'm going to try this strategy:

Pick my MK day. Show up at 7:15am. If they say "no", then oh well. At least I can try Concourse (won't be closed while I'm there). If not that (I'm sure they will have space) then I will just hang out until RD. No biggie.

You could always try CP in MK. We like to get ADR's before the park opens. It's incredible to walk up main street and have it all to yourself (great for picture taking)!! The food is good and they have characters there too (Pooh and friends).

I had a bfst adr at 8:05 but like a dummy i cancelled it cuz I made a lunch adr instead. Now I'm kicking myself! They won't allow walk ups at CP. And the ADRs there, like everywhere else, are airtight!

Thanks for the rec, though! :)

We have popped into CM at the spur of the moment at 7am and gotten a table both times within 10-15 minutes. Granted we are a party of 2, so it might be easier, but it does happen!:thumbsup2

What makes you think they don't allow walk ups at CP? We did not too long ago.

I could be wrong, but I think they meant that you can't try for a walk up at CP before MK opens. You need a ressie to get into the park early.

If you are taking kids to CM's I would not take them there, let them see the place then have to tell them we can't eat there, especially after getting them up at 6am or so and all excited to eat with Mickey. I'd book a sure thing at Cape May Cafe or CP and just keep trying for CM's. My 6yo nephew would just be devastated if I did that to him. I'm not taking him to WDW to see him cry or be sad.

Chef Mickey's will have cancellations up to the day you want reservations. I didn't make my Chef Mickey's ressie at 180 days and wish I had. Any way, I began calling about a month out- always with no ressie available. Then the day before we left an opening came through. It was at a great time too-5:20 p.m.!

I agree 100%.

Also, be flexible for CM's keep trying for Breakfast or Dinner.

We had a hard time getting Coral Reef last year. I was open to Lunch and viola we got an ADR and had just a fabulous meal. It was great to get that break after a long AM in MK! :thumbsup2

I'm not going to take her up there. My mom will wait with her downstairs and I will run up to see if they will take us. She won't know anything. :)
