So my DD3 and I stumbled across some youtube videos of girls getting primped at BBB - and she LOVED it. Didn't want to stop watching it. Speak of the devil, here she comes, standing right next to me, telling me, "Let's watch those movies. Where the girls be the princess. I want to watch those movies." She'll say it over and over again and drive me crazy until I give!

Anyhoo - I wouldn't be against taking her to BBB during our Feb trip, but I don't think I want to shell out the dough for the whole enchilada. Not when she's three. If I just get her hair and makeup done, would they allow us to change her into one of her own dresses in their changing room? Or is that only for the girls who buy their dresses there? Just trying to figure out what the logistics would be like if we did this.

Any thoughts or advice are appreciated! :-)

Lots and lots of girls bring their own dresses from home! I would actually venture to guess most of the girls that go bring one from home. I haven't actually done it. When DD went I shelled out mondo $$$$ and got the whole package :upsidedow

I don't think they'd give you a problem at all changing her in the dressing room. Just maybe ask when you call to make the appt. If you can't change her in the dressing room perhaps put her in a tee and knit pants that you can slip the dress on over or change her in a restroom before going in!

Good luck!! BBB is a magical experience!!!

I brought the dress, crown, wand, and shoes with me. Cinderella has been the princess of choice now for the last two years so that's what I brought. When we got there they had all the dresses displayed and DN wanted to be Ariel. Just be prepared for her to change her mind.

We have appt for twin 4 yr old gs and gd in Jan. GS is getting the jelled spikes and GD is doing the BBB hair and nails. I'm making her new Cinderella dress and we'll be bringing it with us and changing before we go to lunch at CRT.

I did too. :) I lucked out got the best sale at the Disney store on a deluxe Cinderella gown and accessories. It was 70% off. I got the dress for something like $29 and tax. I was thrilled.

Brought the items with me and none of the CMs batted an eye. Nice and friendly and showed us our dressing room. It was so much fun! :)

On our last trip, the day that we had scheduled a BBB appt. Our dd "fairy godmother" came during the night and brought her a Sleeping Beauty dress and wand along with a note that said there was a suprise for her at Cinderella Castle and to be there at 12 noon (the time of the appt) we then had the dinner with Princesses. We got no "credit" but she still 1 (1/2 years later)tells people that "this is the dress that my fairy godmother gave me."

Absolutely bring the dress :-)

What a sweet idea! We may do that this year too!

DD5 loves the BBB. We took all of our own things (dress, shoes, etc). When you get there they take your dress and show you to the changing room. The lady laid out all her stuff for her like she was a princess and left us to change her. When she came out of the changing area everyone just makes over what a beautiful princess she is and the Magic begins.....
We have found it is much cheaper to bring our own things and it doesnt spoil DDs fun either.

I brought DD's Cinderella dress. Like everyone said, they completely do not mind, and we had the best Fairy God-Mother in training.

Bring some tissues for yourself. I was a mess.

We brought our dress from home too and glad we did. Our appointment was in the Castle and they checked us in and called us when a changing room was available. It was wonderful. I was concerned about her changing her mind and wanting a new dress when we got there, but she didn't. It didn't seem like the Castle had the dress selection that I've seen in the pictures of BBB in downtown Disney, which was a very good thing for me.

I've saving up for this - my DD has been in love with Sleeping Beauty for years (She looks just like her of course!).

My girls wore their dresses there and then for the rest of the day. I did not buy them costumes, rather I bought princess looking dresses that were real dresses - the brand name was Cinderella.

I bought the deluxe Cinderella dress at the Disney store for 1/4 of the price and took it with us to BBB. They took us back to the dressing room allowed her to change before the hair and makeup. They were very gracious to us.

We've done it two years in a row now. My DD wore her sleeping beauty dress to DTD for the first one then her Cinderella dress to MK for the other. They didnt say anything about it. WE got lucky, we found the cinderella dress for $20 at walmart and the sleeping beauty dress was on clearance for $5!!!!! This year we are going in September and I think we are gonna skip the BBB but she is still going as Snow White for the MNSSHP. Im going to dress as Snow White too and my DH and DS are gonna be our prince charmings....IF i can talk DH into it!!!!

We have done BBB twice now and both times my girls wore costumes I got at home. It was very special but didn't break the bank...
