If you booked through AAA please come in

I paid for a AAA membership and am currently looking at the Disney prices in October. While I was pricing it out I noticed a *note* at the bottom of the page stating that we have to pay for the MYW passes up front and they are non refundable if we decide to cancel before the 45 day deadline.

Is this true? I actually currently have a Disney vacation booked straight through Disney's website and I only had to pay a $200 deposit. The MYW passes are somewhere between $700-$900.


Also, I didn't see an option to add the dining package to our MYW passes...I saw a park hopper option but not the dining package. Is this something we cannot do through AAA? How do you go about that? (We are traveling October 15th so FREE dining does not apply to us...I know you can't get FREE dining through AAA but I thought paying for dining was okay)

Is this through the AAA website... you may be booking a room only on the website so therefore you would be purchasing the tickets as a separate item. If I wanted a package with the dining plan I would need to be contacted by a AAA TA.

I booked a package (with room meals and tickets) through my AAA TA and I only paid the $200 deposit, so you must be looking at a room only reservation along with tickets.

I'm going end of Oct. and booked package through AAA. You have to tell the rep. that you want to include disney dining. You can absolutely add this to a package--he/she can even make ADRs for you. This was helpful for me because it's a long distance call and it sometimes takes quite a while. Only had to pay the $200 deposit. Also, they will automatically add travel insurance and possibly air, so make sure you let them know if you don't want these.

Why is it that if I call WDW directly and try to get a reservation with the AAA discount they can't add the dining option to my park hopper MYW tickets (the paid dining option NOT the free dining)

But when I call AAA and book through them, they CAN add the dining option to my MYW with hopper package?

I'm getting the same dollar amount for discount, it is just that one can add the dining and one can't.

Does anyone know why that is?

It is just a pain to have to cancel my disney reservations and make one through AAA.

You can book a room only with a AAA discount through WDW, but you can not book a AAA discount package through WDW this has to be done through AAA. Once you add tickets and dining you now have a package

I booked the Free Dining package thru Disney, paid the $200 down payment.

My sister asked me to switch my ressie to a friend of hers who is a travel agent with AAA so that it will add to her trips or something.

She says this is done all the time.

If I do this, and is this a good idea??? can I get a AAA discount along with my Free Dining?

Last year you could not get both but I don't know about this year. I doubt it. You just have to take the best deal. Free dining is the best deal if you are staying at a Value but you would have to run the numbers on everything else.

I would talk to the AAA agent first and make sure there are rooms that you can get a discount on before booking. We are going in Dec. and there seemed to already be none left at most of the mod resorts.

From what I understand the 2007 AAA rates haven't come out yet (although I haven't been around the last couple of days).

But for 2006 a Deluxe is 15% of during Value season and 10% of during regular season. We missed value season by 2 weeks so we got the 10% off.

We are just switching our present reservations from DW to AAA to give a friend the credit for the trips. No changes will be made. I checked with DW first.

I am sure my friend will let me know if there are any other savings to be had. She and my sister are headed to Russia next week on a free trip. Lucky ladies.

She said the rates will be coming out mid-to-end of August.

For anyone interested, she's calling Disney to see if they will confirm that the AKL will start their rehab in 2007. I've heard rumors that the 5-6th floors will be started, which is where we would be booked if we decide to stay there.

She also said that there is no rush, to book AAA rates for Disney. She said there is no blocking of rooms, and that they get the same open rooms that anyone else would get calling, that they're just able to pass on the discounted rates to members.
