looking for poolhome.gated community with resort pool also but can't afford WH..any reviews?

For condos my vote is Vista Cay. Only a couple years old, units up to 2100 sqaure feet.

Great location off Universal Blvd next to Sea World, 5 minutes to Universal and 10 minutes to Disney.

Emerald Island resort is up there.

Lovely landscaping, great location Formosa Gardens area, gated 24/7 and lots of amenities.

We stay 2X's a year.

Windsor Palms (built by the same builders as Windsor Hills) and Emerald Island are both gated communities (with manned gates) and are in the same area as Windsor Hills. Still very close, perhaps one more minute driving time to the parks than WH.

Take a look at this map:
http://www.thedibb.co.uk/forums/villa-map.php

Any of the communities in or near the triangle formed by 429, 192, and I-4 will have commute times within a few minutes of Windsor Hills. The better known/larger ones include Emerald Island and Windsor Palms.

I would save Vista Cay for a Universal/Sea World-focused vacation, myself.

Did you send an inquiry to the windsor hills rental site? Maybe someone would work with you if they have an opening on your dates.

We like romancing the mouse for WH because the price includes taxes, etc...the free pool heat made it the best choice for us.

i tries which ..there quotes were pretty high..romancing the mouse only does sat / sat in our dates..so still looking...

We love Sunset Lakes, and would happily stay in Emerald Island too.

We usually stay in Sunset Lakes. Love it. Very quiet and not as popular as Windsor Hills so it's not busy. I think there are more long time residences as rentals there.

The drive is pretty short too? Our fav. part of WH is how close it is.

Sunset Lakes is the next neighborhood past Windsor Hills. Right off of Funie Steed.

Yup, it's fantastic! We had a home backing onto the conservation area, and it was like we were the only people in the world. :lovestruc Blissful after the busy, busy parks.

It doesn't have the community pool that the OP was looking for though, although with a private pool to ourselves we had no desire or time for such a thing.

Sunset Lakes has a community pool! We drove past it all the time on the way out of the neighborhood. There's also a playground.

Does it really? Cool! We were so busy, we didn't even notice, and like I said, not an amenity we wanted or looked for. Thanks for keeping me from spreading misinformation! :)

We are staying at Emerald Island for the first time this year at a pool house. First time not onsite or at a chain hotel, will report back. We chose based on features and pricing and limited our search to WH or EI.

Hey! I'm also looking at the most affordable, decent accommodations for 2 adults and 4 kids the last week of January '13.

I'm trying to figure out which rental community is the closest to Animal Kingdom/AKL-Kidani. My family will be staying on our DVC points at Kidani, as usual, but my dad and his family (second family with wife and 4 young kids) might be able to make a once-in-a-lifetime trip to WDW if we can get their costs for the week to $2500 or less.

They'll be eligible for YES tickets, so that part should be about $800. They'll eat breakfast and some dinners in their rental, and will be driving so they can get groceries easily or fast food.

Is it probable to consider a 1 week rental in this area for under $1000?
