If $$ were no object, how many DVC points would you have?

My DH and I talk about this all of the time...I think ours would be 1,000! But who knows? Would that really be enough to go as often as we want and take whomever we wanted?

But right now I will go with 1,000...

Actually, I am pretty satisfied with the 400 we have now. I would only do an add on to get the home resort advantage.

Okay...back to reality. Since I work for a company (limited vacation time) and DH is a teacher, I would love enough points to stay in a 2-BR four weeks of the year (spring break, Christmas, and summer). I can go down there, though, and never step foot in a park. Don't get me wrong, I love the parks, but I am just as happy hanging out at the pool, visiting the various resorts, going to Boardwalk/DTD, etc. So I'll go with 1,300 points.

We would love to have enough points to stay in 1-bedroom at Kidani (savannah) for 1 month, actually for two months but that's a scary amount of points. Of course, if money was not an issue....then we would want enough for 2 months.

I agree - that would be perfect. For 2012, I calculated about 2934 points from 1/1 til 4/16 or so, plus or minus a dozen.

I'm about 2550 points short.

I will take the opposite approach. I probably wouldn't order any. I would just pay cash, not worry about dates and go whenever I wanted. Who cares if my room for the week is 20 grand...

I think I would like about 750. Maybe 250 at BLT, 125 VGC, 125 AKL, 125 BWV, and 125 BCV. It would give me opportunities to bank and alternate resorts. I think it I had many more then that, I wouldn't get a chance to go other places. 4 weeks of vacation per year, 2 weeks at Disney, 1 week elsewhere, 1 week just being home.

Not sure....I guess enough to have a grand villa for 2 weeks a year. We love to bring guests with us and we wouldn't have the time to be down there for any longer then 2 weeks a year. I'd have to check out the point chart for how many points that would be. A LOT...that's for sure!

If money were no object, my Disney stays would be at the CRO suites. We wouldn't do Disney often enough to make a house worthwhile, because we'd spend a lot of time traveling in different world locations.

I'd agree with some of the other posters that if money truly were no object, I'd probably have zero DVC points. DVC is definitely a program for those have an ability to buy in, but are still concerned about getting value for their money. While some might still stay attached to their home resort, if you found that winning nine-figure lottery ticket, chances are you wouldn't continue to worry about making sure to call on the first week of that 11-month window to ensure a room at BCV for Food-and-Wine. You'd more likely be spending the four (or is it five?) figures a night necessary to book a suite at the actual BC or YC. I love our home resort SSR, but if $ truly were no object, I'd certainly spend Disney time at the Poly and BC. I'd also love to do Adventures by Disney, which are certainly cheaper with cash than with points. Like it or don't, DVC is not looking at the truly rich (eight, nine or ten figure net worths) as its main market -- DVC is definitely for the bourgiousie.

If money were truthfully no object, I'd avoid DVC and stay CR, Poly or GF concierge every visit. Daily housekeeping, better amenities, etc.

If money were mostly no object, I guess I'd have enough to do 1 week in a BLT MK view grand villa every year.

Truthfully, what I want, is enough to do a 2BR in any season for 7-10 days. We're close to that at some resorts, but not at BLT.
