The problem isn't just cheaters. Many of us who read the old brochure and asked CMs are convinced that unused "child" credits could be used to obtain adult meals. I think too many greedy guests went overboard and necessitated the policy change.
We still don't have a definitive answer as to using credits to treat others. I can understand Disney not allowing it. Sammie says his contacts say Disney doesn't want it. The brochure doesn't really give any guidance. I've used the cruise and all inclusive examples to support the idea of not allowing this practice. BUT in practice there isn't any way for a cruise passenger to treat non-passengers and all inclusive resorts generally use wrist bands that not only lets guests know they can't treat but also facilitates enforcement.

but I can see why they would say no sharing on the dining plan. Now if you pay OOP I don't see how they could say you can't share..
