We like both of these resorts for different reasons, BCV for its central location and VWL for its atmosphere.. Depending on our mood we would like to spend some time at VWL, but are worried that we will never be able to get a ressie there 7 months out...

Jon99,

It will most assuredly depend on the time of year and your flexibility. I think VWL will be extremely difficult to get for the highly reserved early December time period (even at 11 months). This is no different from other DVC resorts, but VWL is known to have stunning decorations and it is the smallest of the DVC homes.

So, you would need to be pretty flexible on size of accommodations (for instance), I would think. Also, waitlists seem to work pretty well, though VWL doesn't have enough history to assess that aspect yet.

I don't think you'll have much trouble during other times such as the summer. The relatively small number of rooms is one of the
many reasons we decided to make it our DVC home.

We switched our mid June OKW ressie to VWL at the 7 month window with no problem. But I agree with Granny that early December would be difficult. I haven't tried waitlisting at this time of year yet.

in making reservations at VWL or BCV. We've been owners since Nov. 00 at VB but haven't been there yet. Plans are to spend time there next (2003) year. I've had absolutely no trouble making reservations at VWL or BCV at the 7 month window. We went in Oct 01 and have reservations for the same time this year. I'm sure that is one reason we had no trouble. As I am sure that others will tell you, it depends on the time of year you wish to visit.
Enjoy!!
