Do you have to use your credit cards on the ship. I really hate using my credit card. I think you cannot keep track of what you are spending through out the week. We are going in May I have been buying Disney dollars for the park part of our trip. I know you can use them on the ship but can you pay as you go or do you have to use your card. If you do have to use your card can you pay cash before you leave or do you have to keep it on the card. Thanks for any help you can give. Brenda

You have to "secure" your room account with a credit card. The account balance will be charged to your card when it reaches a certain amount, I think it's $400. You can pay the balance during the trip, by stopping by Guest Services on deck 3. If you keep an eye on your account and pay it down before it reaches $400, you should be able to keep them from charging your card.

All the actual purchases on board are made with your room key and charged to your account. There's no actual exchange of money on board, with the possible exception of room service tips.

While you are on the ship you charge everything on your Key to the World Card. I believe that you are required to put some form of deposit on this when you embark. You can put a credit card down for security, but you can go to guest services before you leave and pay your account in cash, travellers cheques instead of leaving it on your card.
You can go to guest sevices at any point and find out the balance that is on your account so that there are no surprises on the final total.

When we were on the Wonder, I would usually wait when Guest Services weren't too busy, then ask for a copy of my account. I would then pay it down.

As stated, the only money used are for tips for Room Service. Everything goes onto your Key to the World Card!

when DH and I went in Aug. we did not use a credit card. We paid with cash and did not have to leave a credit card for security. We simply went to Guest Service a few times to pay the balance. No problems at all. I though it odd to not have to leave some kind of security but we did not have to.
