If there isn't a public code coming now after another accident at Disney World

then I'd be very suprised.

This has to be starting to turn people off with the two major accidents with Disney transportation.

I will say I'm at the point where I think I'll be driving more with going to the parks even staying on property. The one exception may be MK.

Anyway, I feel with the bad PR here it's bound to bring some deals for the fall and winter times.

doubt it.

i mean you said yourself you'll be driving more..that mean you still
plan on going..and I think 99% people still feel that way.
and realize your more likely to have an accident traveling to disney that
being in transportation AT Disney.

that and I still haven't seen anything on the major news networks about the bus accident.
So vast majority of people will never know it happened.

I still feel very safe when I'm there.

While both these accidents are scary, and the tragedy of that young man losing his life is hard to comprehend, I can't imagine that many people rethinking their trips or cancelling.

Personally, I will stick with WDW transportation. Given the millions of people those monorails and busses have transported, the odds are way more in my favor than not. WDW transporation is probably some of the safest public transporation on the planet.

If Disney release any codes in the near future, it will be because people are nervous with these unemployment statistics. When you hear about almost 10% of Americans out of work, that makes people extremely nervous.

It doesn't bother me, accidents happen and it isn't that often. Wouldn't rethink visiting WDW at all.

You are still significantly more likely to be in a car accident in your own car going to the parks than you are on Disney transportation.

Besides, you still drive after hearing about all these horrendous car accidents that happen all the time, causing significant injury & death, don't you? Then why wouldn't you use Disney transport?

I have to agree with the others I don't think either of the accidents is going to truly influence people on if the should take a Disney trip or not. People may think about it a little more when they are actually on the monorail or bus but that is about it. We all live in a mentatlity of it won't happen to me.

I hope your right.

hey, have I seen you somewhere before? :confused3 :rotfl:

Let's see I'm from NJ now live in NC- could that be it?? LOL Or is it all of these codes and discount posts? Hmmm...

I do not anticipate that Disney would release a code due to the 2 recent accidents. That is the first monorail crash in how many years? That is 1 bus collission in how many daily/weekly/monthly/yearly bus routes?

If people are going to go, they are going to go. A man just murdered his wife on a Carnival cruise, people were kidneapped and killed in Mexico, Americans are "enemies" in some other countries, people catch the flu and other things when travelling out of the Us.....so I do not see this being really impacting on anybody who is planning to go to WDW.

I am sorry that Austin lost his life at such a young age, but the death on BTMRR did not stop people from riding the ride and these 2 accidents won't stop people from booking their vacations.

15% unemployment in Michigan is scary---highest in the country. Still want to go to WDW--if nothing else it helps to get away and forget everyday troubles. Here's to hoping for a good code!!

I think guests are far safer at WDW than their travels going to and from WDW.
I would expect the usual promotions. But that is just regular business.

Why would they release a discount code based on two transportation accidents? I have not seen anyone say they are cancelling their vacations because there were accidents. They'd have to cancel a lot of vacations. There was a major vehicle accident not long ago where a Disney bus hit a car (the driver of which had lost control of the car), you don't see people cancelling their vactions over it.

Okay so i heard the big news about the monorail accident---but whats the 2nd one?

If more people start driving because they don't trust Disney transportation, there will be more accidents.

gotta tell ya some of those bus drivers are little crazy. :scared:

One time our driver was flying around the campground. She missed our loop, so we yelled to her. She slams on the brakes and kicks in reverse! Omg! It was more thrilling than BTM. :lmao: Before that she was telling us you can see Bambi here. Ummm, at the speed you're going- it's all a blur!!

Another driver was doing the same 'high speed' driving when I noticed a deer in the road... I'm like, Deer! He didn't slow down... DEER!! DEER!!!!! IN ROAD!!!
He slams on the brakes! Then goes on to lecture me how sitting down is important. Hmmm, dude, I was sitting- and paying attention, unlike you. I saw the deer.

Of course, to be fair we have had some of the BEST drivers. One who entertained us in Mickey's voice.
