If there aren't suites at WDW available?!

I m trying to put together a trip in may and I believe all the DVC studio suites are booked, what would you guys do? I was thinking of (wait for it) - trying Bonnet Creek! I know it's not technically a WDW resort but thought I might get more for our money staying there. My only other option if I can't rent points would be a moderate or value. What would you do? TIA!!

I fear that you may not get any resolution just by asking, "what would you do?" There are the die-hard onsite folks who would say "Go Deluxe!" and those who value a good deal that would say, "Stay offsite!" Neither group takes into account your previous Disney experiences, traveling preferences, group size, budget, etc.

If you want people to advise as to what you should do, please provide more info.

I have done both and cannot recommend either without knowing more about you!

Also, there are a few locations with the phrase "Bonnet Creek" in the name do you'll need to specify which one you're referring to.

Sorry we have mostly stayed onsite and go 1 or 2 times a year, we have stayed all levels of resorts (but only rent DVC points for our deluxe stays), I won't pay through disney for deluxe resorts in order to keep up with our multi trip years! I have a friend who I rent points from and she thinks all studios are booked for when I would like to travel so I was thinking of staying at the Bonnet Creek that is "on property", but I m a little afraid of feeling like we are away from Disney! I m a Disney fanatic but for the money the rooms look awesome! But I don't want to feel disconnected from the magic, and my son is a bus riding fool so I wasn't sure if they had bus service as well. So I just thought I would see if anyone who loves staying at WDW has stayed close but not "on" and enjoyed it.

My advice would be to give it a try! Since you go fairly often I think it's worth the risk to find out what you are/are not missing. If you only went once every 10 years and loved staying on property I would be hesitant to suggest giving it a try. I would want your once-in-a-decade trip to be ruined because your resort didn't have that Disney magic! . The only way to find out if it's for you is to stay there!

When we went to Disney last March we did a POP, WBC, POR split stay. While I'm not an expert, I can easily understand both sides of the onsite vs offsite debate. There are pros and cons to each.

Since you're already accustomed to the DVC housekeeping schedule, you'll find WBC to be the same.

Yes, there are busses to the Disney parks and DTD. They recently instituted a $12/day bus fee that is paid when you arrive.

If you want to know more about the resort, there's a very popular thread titled "We loooooove Bonnet Creek" thread (or something like that). I'd link to it but I'm mobile so I can't right now. There's tons of info such as who to rent from, what rooms/towers to request for a fireworks view, etc.

They have already changed the $12 fee for bus riding. It's now $5 per person for the round trip ride. There are a bunch of Bonnet Creek thread. Just search for them.
