Not sure. We still haven't seen Dark Knight or Mamma Mia. We are total movie losers! Any suggestions for anything that just came out that we both might like?

Go see Mama Mia! I've seen it 3 times now! My dh even liked it! It's very cheesey, but in a good cheesey way!

I saw Ben Stiller on Jon Stewart the other night, not literally and Jon Stewart said that Tropic Thunder was "ridiculously funny". I am dying to see MM but DH won't budge. Said he'd rather have a tooth pulled.

I had the kids watch Obama's speech last night and explained to them that having a black man as the Dem nominee is HUGE and historical and beyond important and that JFK and MLK did not die in vain and that this is one of those defining political moments. You'll be sorry you got me started.

My FIL and DH's grandpa are both die-hard Dems, and I am an official "unaffiliated." I'm not allowed to be "political" because of my job, but I love presidential campaign years--the process is fascinating.

I had the kids watch Obama's speech last night and explained to them that having a black man as the Dem nominee is HUGE and historical and beyond important and that JFK and MLK did not die in vain and that this is one of those defining political moments. You'll be sorry you got me started.

I love stuff like this. I got emotional last night watching as the people in the audience who had probably gone through years of discrimination and segregation had tears streaming down their faces while watching Obama. And then I teared up again this morning when Sarah Palin spoke at the McCain rally. Regardless of whom you support, it's an amazing time. I told that to , and I think he was impressed! It's great that you watched it with your kids--I love the fact that they live in a time when this is possible. Even when I was growing up, I remember talking about if we would ever have a woman or a black president--it seemed so remote then, but the time is here!

This is worth getting started for. Truly. I agree that it's fascinating. I just love it. It's so interesting. Politics is the ONLY subject I can talk about with my mutha and not want to run her over with a very large vehicle. My parents were very active Dems during my youth in So Cal.
