BTW for anyone interested I cut my golf handicap again :yay: I'm now 13.9 so play off of 14. I played 9 holes this morning and shot 2 over par so played to a 4 :faint: :goodvibes

:faint: Yay Jo!!!

But, I hate golf! :rotfl2:

Josh has quit his budding dance career as the next Zac Efron. Please share pics! I bet she'll look adorable!!!!!
That's good for you though huh :rotfl2: Tomorrow isn't a comp it's a show, her dance school does one every 2 years!

popcorn:: Please explain the world of golf handicaps. I have heard the term but haven't a clue what it means. :confused3 Congrats though!!!!
OK I'm so bad at explaining stuff but I'll try! A golf course has 18 holes which all have a par (either a 3, 4 or 5) A pro should get par on each hole so his handicap is scratch or zero. Ladies start with a handicap of 36 which means they can take 36 more shots than the par over the 18 holes, still with me???? The better you get the lower your handicap becomes, the average lady plays off about 20 something, mine is now 14 which is pretty good for a lady, my aim is 6!!!!

I just got back from walking and going to Walmart. DH will be home in about 20 minutes and then we are packing up and heading out for a smooth weekend at the City of Rocks. :rotfl2: It should be fun. We are bringing lots of beer! :drinking1 The kids are really looking forward to it.
Have a great time :goodvibes

:faint: Yay Jo!!!

But, I hate golf! :rotfl2:
I hate watching it on TV but playing it is very addictive :rotfl2:

I don't know where Kirsteen or Jenna are. I called Jenna but I know the kids are at Nate's parents so I am sure they are loving each other up. :duck: :rotfl2:

LUCKY JENNA!!!!

:wave2: HIYA girlies, I'm here now. I was working and since lately its been pretty manic in the McDonald household I just popped on Dis for a wee while then BigD ran me a bath with Molten Brown bubble bath and handed me a glass of wine and my book:cloud9: ...I love my hubbie:love: . We're going up to Auchterarder this weekend to visit Donny's sis and her hubbie :yay: ....yeh, not so much, he asked his parents to come along with us  (I love my In-laws but I couldn't eat a whole one KWIM)....I hate my husband:headache: .

Oh well eight days until our Gaerloch trip and seven days until I can say
"WE'RE GOING TO DISNEY IN A YEAR :mickeyjum :mickeyjum :mickeyjum "

Jenny??? You havin' fun camping? I didn't go. My house got hit by lightning this morning. It was the perfect excuse! :rotfl:

:wave2: How was your visit with your SIL? We've missed you!

:lmao: Well if you stand on the roof wearing a tin foil hat holding a wire hanger, that's bound to happen. The things some people will do to get out of going camping! :rotfl: :rotfl2: But really, I hope it wasn't damaged too badly and that no one was injured! :goodvibes

Okay, camping was fun!!! No seriously! The guys, their wives, and the kids were so friendly and nice. Besides the fact that I was the only woman there who wasn't bone thin, athletic, and wore an A cup, it was great. :rotfl2: These women were SO athletic but when it came to drunk singing by the fire, I was the only gal belting it out. :rotfl: But truly the weekend was 100x better then I had anticipated. The kids got along fabulously and they all tried rock climbing. I took pics on M's phone and one of the girls is going to email me hers. Gab climbed the biggest, flattest, side of a mountain and while I was cheering for her, I secretly wanted to vomit because I was so nervous. Of course Michael made it up like Spiderman. Chloe and Josh were adventurous as well. Now for me, no thanks, not my cup of tea. Anyway it was a great weekend and hopefully we'll hang out with these people again soon.

It fried my PC (on a surge protector)...I'm borrowing my father's...my air conditioner, my sprinkler system, my hair dryer...and several lights. Other than that...we're fine.

But, I still didn't have to go camping! :rotfl2:

:rotfl2: I would actually go again! :scared1: The wind blew so hard last night I thought the tent was going to cave in. And for the record, DH said everyone was tent camping but only 3 out of the 6 families had tents. :( I forgot to add we saw a rattle snake this morning :faint: right where we all were. It was just hanging out on the trail to our tent. :faint: Had we seen that bad boy the first day, we would not have stayed!

I am glad there wasn't too much damage!

Hi Girlies, very interesting weekend by the sounds of thing;) .

(Goofy)Jen, lightening strike :scared1: ...but as you say every thunder cloud has it's silver lining and not having to go camping is most definately a silver lining in my book::yes::

Sounds like you had a good if eventful weekend yourself Jenny I'm glad the other wives were friendly sorts:thumbsup2

Okay what have the rest of you been up to....still headed for the Womens PGA circuit Jo:thumbsup2 ?

We ended up travelling up to Donny's sis's later than anticipated as the back box on the car decided to disengage when we were coming back from the local gala day:headache: .....£100/$200 please..chaching:( .

Anyway when we arrived in Auchterarder at quarter to seven that night his parents had consumed the best part of a litre bottle of whiskey and were completely scooped and talking rubbish to the girls:mad: . Donny's sis made a lovely meal but to be honest I wasn't in the mood and went to bed early. Then next day we went a run to Aberfeldy, the scenery was beautiful but the road was VERY windey and Niamh threw up everywhere apart from that it was a fabby day and we really enjoyed it:thumbsup2

We're leaving at seven on Saturday morning to go up to Gairloch for a fortnight's holiday. If the weather is okay it should be good fun (do you hear me trying to convince myself:lmao: ). The caravan park is right on the beach and I've been looking into going on Whale and Dolphin watch boat trips and other activities to try to keep us all from killing one another:rolleyes1 Donny's sis and her hubbie are coming up for a few days so that will be fun:woohoo:

Here's a link to the caravan park that we're staying if you fancy a peek.
www.gairlochcaravanpark.com/index.asp It's not exactly WDW but it fills in two weeks of the summer holidays:rolleyes1

How was the dance?
It was nice, in Ellie's group it was hilarious as she was literally a foot shorter than all the other girls, because she's a good dancer she's with girls older than her, she also doesn't stop smiling, she loves the stage. Some of the older girls though you do wonder why they're still dancing, I know not very nice of me :rotfl2:

:rotfl2: That actually made sense!!!! You are a rockin' golfer girlfriend! :thumbsup2 What's your DH's handicap?
Thanks and David plays off of scratch (0) as he's a Pro :thumbsup2

Okay, camping was fun!!! No seriously! The guys, their wives, and the kids were so friendly and nice.
Sounds great and I'd have been the same watching my DD climb the rock face, proud but scared to death :rotfl2:

327 days until WDW!!!!! :smokin: :hyper: :smokin: :hyper: :smokin: :hyper:
Woooohooooo

Of course ;) :rotfl: I've got 3 matches this week :faint:

Oh no, what's the back box?

OMG I would have been really cross too :headache:

It looks lovely Kirsteen and the price is really good, I hope you get good weather and your caravan doesn't move :rotfl2:

Of course ;) :rotfl: I've got 3 matches this week :faint:

I'm sure you'll thrash them all:cool1:

Oh no, what's the back box?

That big bit at the back of the exhaust...it could have been worse though:hippie:

OMG I would have been really cross too :headache:

I know, Becci is now at that age where she notices when people are behaving strangely. Donny's dad also has a curer (a wee dram) first thing in the morning which is not something you want your 12 year old thinking is normal:eek: .

It looks lovely Kirsteen and the price is really good, I hope you get good weather and your caravan doesn't move :rotfl2:

:rotfl: Yes it's a great price.....it's my uncles static caravan so we're getting it free:banana: . If we get bad weather we'll be back in the car and either book into an hotel or head home...as you know I DON'T do roughing it princess: :snooty:

 Your weekend sounds more interesting than mine did! :rotfl2:

How long is a fortnight? I suppose I could google it. ;) Are you camping on the beach?

Okay, the link looks like fun and so beautiful!!!!! It's not WDW but it should provide a good time. I think almost anytime away from the daily chores of life can be a good time. :thumbsup2 Poor Niamh barfing in the car and even poorer you having to smell it. :scared1: That's one thing I cannot do is other people's barf, even my own kids. Bleh!

That is exactly how I felt. It was the scariest thing I had seen up to date. :faint:

It was horrible! The kiwi that was with us decided to tease the snake. Krikey!

Yes, interesting is a good word for it:lmao:

A fortnight is two weeks. We're staying in one of the static caravans (a trailer I suppose) it has all the mod cons but I def. still feel like I'm going back to nature (or as near as I intend getting in this lifetime;) )

Becci was such a star yesterday, she was the one who had to deal with it all inially as there was no where to stop on the country roads. We stopped once after Niamh spewed for the first time and then we carried on and she did it again:sick: . I could not have done what Bex did at her age :worship: and the smell in the car was absolute vile for the two hour drive back home via DSil's:faint: But hey ho at least we know now that Niamh will need travel sickness tablets for the six hour journey next week;)

I don't know how you dealt with there being snakes  . I would have been sleeping in the car with the doors locked. At least at Gairloch the worst you have to deal with are the midges:headache: :rotfl2:

I think your trip sounds really fun! 2 weeks is long vacation :cloud9: even if it's in a trailer. :rotfl2:

Bex is a good girl helping her little sis out like that!!!! :goodvibes

We didn't see the snake until yesterday, our last morning, while we were all packing up. I would have crapped myself had we seen him any sooner. :lmao:

:confused3 What's a midge?

::yes::

As long as the weather is okay it should be fun, I've planned a few activities and there is the beach, tennis and swimming for the girls. Maybe I'll start a prayer thread for good weather;)

She's driving me nuts just now but basicaly she's a really good kid;)

I don't blame you....I would have had a severe laundry problem if I'd seen the wee jobby:eek:

:confused3 What's a midge?

Here are a couple of quotes that explain them more eloquently than I ever could...
The Scottish or Highland Midge, in it’s own right, probably explains why a country as beautiful as Scotland only has a population of some 5 million people. The Highland midge has a notorious reputation for spoiling folks enjoyment of the great outdoors during the summer months.
The Scottish midge is tiny. It’s only a couple of millimetres in length but pound for pound, it is probably the most formidable and aggressive life form on the planet.

Some Midge Facts

The Scottish midge has a wingspan of 1.4 mm.
A swarm of midges can deliver approximately 3000 bites an hour.
A female will feed on the skin for up to 4 minutes taking 0.1 microlitres of blood.
A female midge can probably detect you from a range of up to 100 metres.
It is estimated that in the Highlands midge populations can reach densities of 10,000,000 midges per acre in ideal conditions.
Midges have probably only been in Scotland for about 8000 years.

And finally a picture of the wee jobbies
