Just read that Space Mountain is going down for refurb on 4/19 through late Novemeber. Also TTA is going down 5/1............and so it begins..............

I am not super upset about Space as RnR will be open as it was closed last trip. I think it's a fair trade but the Peoplemover aka TTA?

My guess is that they are doing a major overhaul like they did to Disneyland's version. Their refurb took a few years.

I'm going to Guiyang which is in South China and then I'll be in Beijing for a week. I'll see the Great Wall and Tienamen Square and the Olympic sites......all that touristy stuff.

Dawn.....good luck with starting a family. I took a break from Disney after our trip in April '97. Jon was born in September '98, we moved across the state in December '98, had Chris in January '01, and didn't go back to Disney until May '02. Looking back I don't know where the time went. I would have never imagined a span that long in between trips, but life happens.

Cherie....Hi! Hope Ethan feels better too. Jon is the same way when he's home from school. Always needs some form of entertainment. I tell him if he's that bored, I'll just take him into school. That usually shuts him up.

Bevily....Hi! I hate driving in the snow too! I make Nate drive me around too when the weather's bad. We are getting snow tonight that is supposed to change over to freezing rain overnight and into the morning. I predict our kids will have a 2 hr. delay. Of course they are hoping for a day off.

It's official sweetie. I love it too! It's old school. So for now we have Space and TTA closed during our trip. I am kind of okay with Space because we'll have RnR and Spaceship Earth which were both closed on our last trip.

I lived through the massive 14 year Space closure. I can certainly endure it again.

I didn't know 2007 was your first trip? I figured you were a lifer like me due to your enthusiasm.

2007 was my first time in 15 years and my first time with ray. i went 3 times as a kid (1984, 1987 & 1992). i was 15 in 1992 when i last went with my family. they went again in 1998 but i was 22 and couldn't take off work and get out of school (i was in college). then with work, college, lack of money, buying a house, etc., i didn't go back until i was 30. i say that i went 5 times in 2 years to make up for lost time.

I'll keep you and Ray in my thoughts. I admire you getting things in order first. That's got to be hard.

That sucks. I'm not a roller coaster fan so I could care less about Space. You will love RnR. I forgot Spaceship Earth was closed too. You never got to see the older version. It was a classic too. The new format is good though, but when you are used to something one way, it takes awhile to get used to the change, kwim?
