If Soarin didn't exist...

Would you do Living with the Land if Soarin didn't exist?

  • Yes - LwtL is a fun attraction in its own right

  • Yes - but not every visit

  • No - I wouldn't do this even while waiting for Soarin

  • No - I didn't even realize there was another attraction in that building

If Soarin' wasn't there and you still had to sit through the Kitchen Cabaret, would you? :sad2:

Actually, I really miss that Kitchen Cabaret. I thought it was hilarious. I'll have to see if there's a youtube on it. I wish my younger daughter could have seen it before it flew the coop.

We also loooove Living with the Land. We find it fascinating. Also, it's nice to sit down for a bit. We are probably going to take the Behind the Seeds tour this April.

Living with the Land is a must-do for us, and we usually do it a couple of times. We really liked it prior to taking the Behind the Seeds tour, but that just enhanced our enjoyment of the ride.

We've done Circle of Life once, and that was enough for us. I think if we went during hotter times of the year, it would be a great way to get off of our feet in the air conditioning for a little while.

Funny thing, we only go into The Land to ride LwtL, we LOVE it!

We never bother with Soarin', it's fun but way over rated, IMO. :rolleyes1 Granted, we have the luxury of living close to DLR, and while it's a popular attraction here, it's not nearly as popular as it is in WDW, so we can go on it whenever we like. Even then we still only ride it once a year, if that. lol

It's a nice, calm ride. Good place to just sit and look at the scenery glide by.
I quite enjoyed it. Wouldn't be very upset if I found it closed for whatever reason, but if I go to epcot I'll certainly go there.

To another poster: no circle of life for me. Thanks but no thanks.

Most definitely yes....I'm a science/biology dork :goodvibes

We love Living with the Land! While DH and DD rode Soarin', DS and I would ride this over and over and it never gets old -- each time there was something different that caught DS's attention. After Soarin', we all ride together again. :goodvibes

The last time I rode was when we won Dream fastpasses in the Year of a Million Dreams (one fp each to all Epcot fp attractions). It was fun to fp something that was basically a walk-on anyway. It was nice and peaceful for my ds who used to get overwhelmed by noise and crowds. BTW, that brings back memories of the only time I felt guilty using a fp -- using the Dream fp on Soarin', to ride for the second time that day because we already had used regular fp. All fp were gone in the early afternoon and we walked past people in a 120 min line.

We may ride LWTL this time because it was featured in the Kingdom Keepers novel we're reading and we have to ride Soarin' in shifts because of a too-short three-year-old. Does anyone know how long it is?

We've never seen Circle of Life.
I have fond memories of KC from childhood.

People visited before Soarin' so why wouldn't they visit if Soarin' was no longer there!!! We ride it every trip!!

Every time I make a visit to EC, LWTL is one of the attractions I must ride before leaving the park that day. If I miss it, it is unacceptable, lol. :lmao: I enjoy the calmness of LWTL and it takes a break from having to wait in a horrendous line for Soarin' or TT.

My point exactly. [not the dumb part - the part about some people not knowing what ride that is]

Well the poll results overwhelmingly say otherwise, but on a board like this I'd expect those results to be skewed. Most folks here are familiar with most attractions. I'm sure there are tons of casual park visitors outside of this board who have never heard of the ride, but there are also plenty of park visitors who have no idea what Soarin' is either. Doesn't make either ride worthless...unlike, say, Nemo. :rolleyes1

I truly enjoy everything in The Land pavillion. My family hangs around there for quite awhile. I just love the atmosphere and theming. We ride Soarin' and LWTL and always watch Circle of LIfe. It is a beautifully done film and has an important message. I am in tears by the end. We always eat at either Garden Grill or Sunshine Season and there have been days we ate at both throughtout the day.

I feel like the majority of the people who use the DISboards are the ones who will answer yes, they would ride both. The majority of people who probably will only ride Soarin most likely don't know LWTL exists, just like they don't know about ADRs or fastpasses (ie, those who come to Disney without research)

We ride it every so often even with Soarin'. Not every time though.

I would definitely ride it. It's one of my favorite rides. Since it's usually a walk on, I ride it several times, I love it, specially at night.

I don't mean to hijack this thread, but let me ask this question..... How many people actually do "The Circle Of Life" attraction????

We did this once as a family and another time when we brought DDs friend. I can do without it.
