Since we couldn't get free dinning and my kids usually do not eat that much- sharing a meal with my husband and I is more than enough sometimes. Does Disney allow this at non buffet restaurants? My kids are 6,3 and 18m

Also not on dining plan...we have 3 generations traveling...a mix of BIG eaters and LIGHT eaters. I'm sure buffets/family-style is strictly per person/no sharing. That said, would it be more economical to restrict buffets so we can share plates? Right now, have ressies for 'Ohana (dinner), Crystal Palace (lunch), Tuskers (brunch), and Boma (dinner). Staying for 9 days in October and splitting between WDW and Harry Potter. Thanks for the advice!

It depends. Will the big eaters be happy with one plate of food, or willing to share?

I think the big eaters (husband's parents) would order their own while me/husband and my mom/daughter would share. Only problem is we want to try the most recommended restaurants and they happen to be buffet/family style. I guess we better start loosening our belts now!

I suggest that you advise your server. The chef will split the meal in the kitchen, and both of the "light" eaters will have a lovely presentation and their own plate. There is no plate charge for this. We are all on the DDP, and may split one or two meals when we go in August. I love to have an appetizer and dessert, but honestly, I cannot eat all of that food, so I may share with my daughter or my DGD.
