FYI you can wear sparkle skirts with the zipper in the back if you prefer. They are made to be able to switch :)

I have a black linen SS and really love it. It is my favorite running attire. I would also add the SS cover your bottom so if you have some tushy sweat going on, no one will see it.

Wow.....someONE demanded a review and they have yet to comment....hmmmm.

I'm here for you, Nicole. I think Sparkle wins out, of course I don't really know what I'm talking about!! ;)

Grey sparkle color is my vote!!

I know right?!?! She yells at me & then gets off! Hahahaha!!

How much snow did you guys get? We ended up with maybe 3 inches....but ice under it... since it fell first as rain.

:cool1:

and the conversion begins...

For your biggest dislike, I can tell you that MANY Sparklesisters (yay, you are one of us now!) :p wear the zipper in the BACK! Now, on the DMUR, it's harder b/c of the pleats, but most of the regular Sparkleskirts can be worn forwards or backwards with no difference in fit, and I know many who do that!

I would get a workhorse. My first was black, she goes with everything and I have ran, washed repeatedly, and beaten this skirt to oblivion in the last year and she still looks fantastic. Some Sparklesisters like the bright colored skirts b/c they go with everything, but I prefer my black, a bit less flashy.

So yeah, you just bought one and now I'm already pushing you to get your second! :rotfl2:

I was debating that while I was running.. I was thinking- hmm, I bet I could switch this around... then when I took it off and saw the tag firmly in the back I thought maybe I shouldn't because what happens if I try it & I end up ripping it!!! BUT since you said that... I'm going to try it next like that!

Thanks for that tip! That makes me VERY happy! That was really my biggest drawback!

I didn't even think about the tush sweat.. good point! :thumbsup2

I'm off to look at the Black linen!

I'm off to look at the Black linen!

Conversion complete! :lmao:

BTW, I believe black linen is a little "heavier" than some of the other skirts, I would read the description. I have black linen in slim cut (these are the skirts that don't flair out) and don't like it as much as the black silk.

I never have mentioned how many I have accumulated in the last year. :rolleyes1

I studied the DMUR closly when I was first considering switching it (Before I thought I better not because I might rip it) and there are pleats on both sides and the angle runs on both sides... .so it is doable. I just thought maybe there was more give in rear & I'd end up stretching stitching and ruin it. SO GLAD to hear you can reverse. I will be doing that!

Workhorse, huh? I will look at it. I like the one ECB recommended- it has the straighter skirt. There are no grey's are there? I dont' see any without a pattern........ Eh, black hides fat better anyways! :)

I saw several from your PHM pics! :)

Black Silk. Black Linen. So many choices........... ;)

It's just starting in my area now. They let the schools out early, but I don't know if they'll let us out. Probably not. We are expected to get 10 to 16 inches. Just freaking lovely!! :worried:

They were quoting 16 for us too- but it ended up being WAY less, but I think that's becasue it fell as rain for awhile before it converted to snow.

Hoping for the best for you. Think, we'll BOTH be in warm weather in less than 2 weeks. Amen for that!!!

This winter has sucked balls!!!

Ugh!!! I hope you don't get as much as they are forecasting and that it melts quickly! This really has been the worst winter I can remember in a long time. Stay warm Ann!

Here is me in the Black linen sparkle skirt. I really love it. (Ignore the messy bathroom)

Love your sparkle skirt! I'm debating if I want to take that plunge but as I'm still at a losing weight stage, I don't really want to be spending $65 on something that may not fit well in a few months.

Too funny about your husband's response to that. My husband takes the same attitude when I have done my solo trips for special events and things.

That skirt looks so pretty! I need some warm weather running clothes now that the weather is changing but I'm not sure I'm ready for any "investment pieces" yet :)

The good thing about sparkle skirts is that even if you move to the next size down I have heard of ladies adding a draw sting to the waist and the skirt still works great. I am about ready to size down and try this out.

Ooooh and you had the tiara embellishment added! Love it! :thumbsup2

Yes I got it but honestly in future I probably wouldn't. It makes it a bit harder to wash. Also wish I had ordered the music hole. I really love that ok my other skirt.

look at that tiara. :) Love it!

Now is that the slim? Are there two 'black linen's?' I guess I could answer my own question by actually just looking it up myself...but what fun is that?!?! Hahahaha...

I would also like to point out- I've gotten NO work done today. :) Sparkle skirts are SO MUCH MORE FUN!

Ok- so I took a picture but didn't want to post it because of the unappetizing form we consumed it in...

Remember- the recipe calls for decorating tips & swirls. Which was way too much work when it was just going in my belly.............

So, I give you.. "The Grey Stuff". Nicole style.

It went fast in my house. 24 hours and it was gone! :) It would be really good between cake layers or as a frosting as well........

THE GREY STUFF DOES LOOK DELICIOUS! I thought the decorating tips and swirls where a bit much...my family would have not even let it get out of the bowl before it was gone!

Yes, there is a regular swing black linen and a "slim cut" black linen. I have two slim cut skirts...wait...three. :lmao: I like them, but not as much, it's just personal preference on whether you like the A-line or the straight look in your skirt.

True about the tiara, that sparkle would make it hard to want to just throw in the washing machine (which is a MUST for me and my Sparkleskirts...I sweat too much to get the really glittery skirts that have to be hand washed)

Also, there is a Sparkleskirts Princess group on Facebook (just search it) and when/if you need to size down you can sell your skirt there in SECONDS (seriously, the longest it ever took me was 20 minutes and I was freaking out that it took so long) for nearly what you paid for it. The resale value is really high in that group for some reason. :thumbsup2

I was just about to mention the FB group! It is crazy how fast people are able to sell skirts on that board and basically at new prices!

My vote is the Black Silk. I thought I wanted the black linen but Besty tells me it seems a bit heavier and has more texture in the fabric. She has so many and says the black silk is the same fabric texture/feel as my Urban Camo (who is my favorite girl).

I want a work horse skirt too! But I love the embellishment! Thought about that...I already live in an area where the only people that run are serious runners and am self conscious enough about what I look like running...although when I wore Urban camo for the first time I got lots of compliments and people asking me where I got her...but that was a crazy Susan B Kommen race with a million people who were cupcakes!

I have also thought about slim cut...but I am blessed with big hips and upper thighs...I need something to cover those areas!

I am so glad that you are pleased with your skirt! I was a little worried, but I have not heard of 1 person yet who dislikes the skirts.

YAY FOR THE 2 MILES....

I think I'm going to try a slim. That's my thought.... I'll probably bite the bullet in a few weeks... after the shock of the first one & the PHM sprung on the hubby wears off! :)

Wait till I tell him I need new shoes too!

YAY FOR THE 2 MILES....

I think the Black Linen is the only one that comes in the slim? I have no hips (I am built like a boy- no hips no b##bs!) so I want to try the more stream-lined skirt.... but I don't like that the Linen is heavy feeling...

But you all are saying I can resale for close to original, so if it doesn't work- that's what I'll do! I saw the Urban Camo pattern and thought that was super cute! It stuck out to me as I was scrolling!!!

Yes 2 miles on Tuesday.. and almost 5 on Monday (split).. I was going to give a weekly recap like you are doing on Sunday!!! :)
