If no FD at Values, will the Mods be Mobbed?

If the rumors are true, and values are not part of the (speculated) fall free dining promotion, do you think the Moderates will be booked to capacity and busy? I'm wondering if people, who would normally have booked value, will now book moderate, to get the FD. What do you think?

I am planning to stay at a mod this time, and I love that fall is a slow time of year at WDW. It may not seem that way now!

I personally think it will depend. If quick service dining is free at mods...I can't really see all those people bumping up to a mod to get free quick service dining. There will probably be a room only discount going on and I think for a lot of people that would make more sense to stick with the value and just pay for dining if they want it (and a lot probably won't). A lot of people have been less and less happy with the value of the dining plan so if they can't get it free then they probably just won't get it.

Or I could be way off in my thinking...but I wouldn't worry about it. The reason the fall is slow has nothing to do with free dining...it's just not a convenient time for a lot of people to go. I personally LOVE going in September and if the crowds are LIGHTER because there is less free dining then so much the better. :)

If true yes without a doubt. Free dining more than makes up the price difference between value and mod. assuming you plan to eat your meals
on property

Again, I would have to say it depends. Whenever a FD offer comes out, there is also, usually, a room only discount available for roughly the same dates. Would a large number of people forsake a room only discount and OOP (or paid DDP) dining at a value resort for rack rate and QSDP at a mod? It used to be a good deal when the mods offered the full DDP, but I don't think it's a bargain if it's only CS.

You'd have to work out the numbers, but my guess is that any savings on food would certainly be offset by the jump in the resort cost. Heck, we don't opt for FD anymore, and we're usually at the mods to begin with! We've found that RO discounts save us more money.

Although I have to admit that I am seriously surprised at the number of people who don't bother doing the math, or just take the FD offer because it's 'convenient'. I'm just too cheap to take a 'discount' without actually checking to see if it's a good deal or not.

Not sure I believe the rumor. There is no way that Disney would price a mod with free dining equal to or cheaper than a value with paid dining.
