Today's Topic (Fri, 10/3) - 3 Disney movies or TV shows you are/were grateful for

I really enjoyed three Disney Channel Shows: In a Bug Juice, In a Heartbeat, and Z Games.

The first Santa Clause was so well done.

Mary Poppins minus some of the chimney sweep scenes (too much and too long) was such a great movie.

Mulan- because she did it herself, didn't need a man to rescue her. OK, there is a love interest in the background, but SHE was the leader, SHE bailed herself- and China- out. Mulan is DD's favorite princess, and I like that. [Fun aside... When dd was maybe 14, she once again "met Mulan" in the China pavilion. It was a very slow day and we were headed in to see the movie, so Mulan came with us. She walked my daughter thru the museum exhibits, telling her about China's history and what growing up in China was like. It was a lovely, unexpected interaction. DD felt honored that "Mulan" shared this time with her.]

Disney+ because it is alternative, "safe" entertainment, for the most part. I hate it when the 9yo gets the remote while the rest of us are busy and he ends up watching stupid shows with mouthy middle schoolers. Doesn't usually happen with Disney+ offerings.

Winnie the Pooh cartoons/shows/video tapes from the 1990s. DD grew up on these, and when I see them again, it makes my heart warm. She still loves Pooh.

Good morning, @flyingdumbo127 !! I almost said Mary Poppins. I remember my mom taking me to see the premier in Boston. It was just the 2 of us; we told my little sister we were going to a special scout meeting because she was (a) really too young, and (b) it was a special thing for just me. Sorry you don't love the chimney sweep scenes- as a dancer/dance family, I'm always amazed by the choreography and the precision!

What an awesome memory dear Lee. I just think the chimney sweep scenes could have been shortened. I really do enjoy the movie. Three cheers always for and forever for you my friend, Lee.

Today's Topic (Fri, 10/3) - 3 Disney movies or TV shows you are/were grateful for

1 The Fox and the Hound - It was my first movie I watched in a theater. I might have been 5 or 6. It's closed now, but went to an old school local movie theater called The Alphine.
2 The Rescuers - As a kid it was full of mystery, adventure, and travel around the world. As an adult we were fortunate to work and travel around the world as a family. Wonder if those seeds were planted early on in my childhood????
3 Cinderella - Both the original cartoon and the live action. I have (had) two little princesses. They are all grown up now. When they were little, they use to watch the DVD ALL THE TIME. We had to buy a second DVD because they wore out the first one...if that's even possible.

The wonderful world DISNEY I always so look forward to that every week

I always enjoy the goofy how to cartoons I still think they are so hilarious

Zorro one of my all-time favorite TV series wasn’t around when it originally came out but I loved watching it on reruns and when they offered it on DVD no I snatched that up

The emperors new groove is one of my all-time favorite movie I just think it’s absolutely hilarious

Lion King 1/2 again I think that movie is so funny

I think the best one they ever did though is beauty and the beast

One of the best TV series I ever did in my opinion was once upon a time I absolutely loved that TV series

Another TV series they did that I thoroughly enjoyed was the middle I really thought it represented an average everyday family and the things that an average everyday family went through and did

Sesame Street - While he also gifted us with all of the Muppets (among other things) which are not intertwined with Disney, I'm thinking of the early days when my world revolved around Ernie and C is for Cookie were words to live by. Even the little cartoon sketches like the Ladybug Picnic, Capital I, and The Alligator King left a lifetime of impressions.

The Magic Garden - I don't know if this aired beyond the NY Metro area but it was my lunchtime show during kindergarten. Carol and Paula would sing in their brightly colored garden, Sherlock would get into trouble and learn valuable life lessons, and we all laughed along with the Chuckle Patch. Add in the easy to make Mug-O-Lunch that was usually on the menu and my afternoon was set.

The Uncle Al Show - I don't know if this aired outside of the Cincy area (lived there for a year) but this was one of my local faves. I was lucky enough to see it in person a couple of times too, which was fun because kids would sometimes get pulled out of the audience to be in skits and we all got on stage at the end for pictures with Uncle Al and the rest of the cast.
