Depends -- if I were a SAHMT (stay-at-home-monkey-tender) and had to homeschool - I probably would only have 1.

If I could enroll the little darlings in the best daycare facilities -- I would definitely have 14.

Either way - I would put my foot down and not permit any playdates with Michael Jackson's monkey, Bubbles!

Oh and to answer your question...I'd have 1. That way I could go around sing-songing 'I've got a monkey, I've got a monkey.' Anymore than one and the taunting just wouldn't be as lyrical.

Well, I suppose it depends on the variety of monkeys available. Rhesus monkey? Colobus monkey? Spider monkey? I don't think a chimp is a monkey, I think it is an ape, so those don't count. Maybe 2, so they could play with the cats.

Seriously, it depends. Are they Pooh sized, shamu sized, alcoholic, smokers, transgendered...what kind of monkeys are we talking about here? I like to think I'd create all monkeys equal, so I'll have to say.....10. Yep, I'd like 10. And I think I can support them financially as well.

well it is to cold here to have a brass monkey sooo, i couldn't have that kind, hmmm.
but if i was to get one then my brother could say "well i'll be a monkeys' uncle!"
at birthdays, we would have to sing "happy birthday to you, you look like a human, and you smell like one too"
i think it could get quite complicated really, but useful with cliches!!
