ESPN/ABC back in the TV picture? If Michael Eisner is ousted as the chairman of Disney, it could be a plus for NASCAR and ABC-ESPN in their TV contract negotiations, according to TV sources. ABC-ESPN officials have been interested in making a strong bid to return to stock-car racing when the NBC part of the current contract comes up for review. If ABC were to gain that fall half of the NASCAR season, it would raise some interesting issues on the ESPN side, since Fox-owned Speed cable produces so many NASCAR shows. Would ESPN's once revered RPM-Tonight return to the air to battle Fox's own nightly NASCAR telecasts?(Winston Salem Journal)(3-19-2004)

That would be so nice! ESPN ruled when they had NASCAR coverage. FOX is OK, but NBC is just terrible.
