I was just sitting here thinking that oh yeah, it's NYE. What shall we have for supper? A super calorie fest? Pizza? Nachos? Then I start thinking what were we doing last NYE? Then oh fashizzle! I remembered that I have a TR or 2 still unfinished!

So here I am, to finish something by midnight.....shall it be my plate of chips and salsa or this trip report?

I don't want to bring in the new year with too much accomplishments; might set a tone for the upcoming year; couldn't have that could we?
So, after HM, what did we do? I don't remember exactly and it doesn't really matter. What is important is that we "were" having a grand time. What I do remember is going to see Country Bears and DS8 started to have a meltdown. Instead we just headed outside and sat on the curb to wait for the parade. We called my mom and just listened to the music and watched people. DS8 was so tired so I came up with a great idea.

CANDY!! Now whose the Momma of the Year? Hand over the award; it's mine! We were just outside the general store or whatever it's called. DS8 and I went in and stuffed a snack credit size bag with taffy and made a few other selections. Then, I sealed the deal by buying DS a regular Coke. What a good mother I am!

I loaded my child up with sugar so he could stay awake for the next 5 hours (which ended up being more like 8 hours).
Now seriously, the time between the parade and midnight completely escapes my memory. What I do know is that we were in tomorrow land and needed to get to main street, center castle, for the 10pm? wishes. As we neared The Plaza, DH had to once again, hit the restroom, so DD and I went as well. Somehow we ended up in one way traffic and couldn't get back to the men's entrance. We had to go all the way to main street then somehow fight on-coming traffic to get back. I thought we would never find them. But we did, and now the next battle was to get back into the one way traffic that dumped into another line of one-way traffic that was heading toward the castle. DH stopped to take pics and I turned around to see where he was and when I turned back, DD was gone.....slept forward by the current of people.

I told the boys to NOT MOVE FROM THIS SPOT NO MATTER WHAT! Now the CMs had a nice 8' clear path down the middle of Main Street. I guess only to be used by CM's and me. As I approached a mean looking neon waving CM, she said to the right please, and I just zipped past her while yelling I've lost my child. I thought she was going to tackle me, but to my surprise she stepped in front of the on coming herd and put out her hands to stop them. WOW This all happened in seconds really and just a matter of feet. No time to panic..yet. I was able to spot DD and the boys came up to join us. And when wishes started, the CM allowed us to remain semi in the open lane. We were able to sit on the ground and still see. She kept shooing the other people out of "our" lane. I mean we didn't just sit right down in the middle, we just cheated the line by about a foot.
After Wishes, Dh magically appeared. I'm all huffy puffy, like where the heck were you? We lost you, I lost DD, I can't watch 3 children by myself. And cool headed DH says, well I could see all of you the whole time.

Hmmmph! I'm putting myself in a timeout.
I was thinking/hoping that the park would clear out a little since the 10pm wishes was the little kid early midnight countdown. Errr, I don't think that happened.
Up next: We finally ride that darned Dumbo!
