If I end up getting two studios for family during one of my trips. Could I then just get Disney's Dining Plan for one of the studios? OR would I have to sign up both rooms for it?

Thanks for the info! That would make everything work out nicely since my parents are big restaurant lovers while I'm more of the grab and go type. So DDP wouldn't really make financial sense for just me.

I'm hoping to buy it for them so they don't have to worry about paying for meals. The dining reservations just need to be made really far in advance to get what they want(popular places), right?

That's very nice of you! I think most dinner reservations can be made 180 days in advance. It's not hard to use the one line reservation form.

Some definitely need to be made well in advance. LeCellier is often booked at 5 1/2 month out. But since it now requires 2 DDP credits for dinner since it has been relabeled as a signature restaurant, there might be more availability. California Grill can also get fully booked. Some of the character meals are the same, but your parent's may not be interested in them.

I know that when we book ADRs at 5 to 6 months out we have our pick of restaurants, but at a month out we can't always get into the restaurant of our choice or have to dine earlier or later than we want.

LeCellier's lunch is still 1 credit, so lunch is harder now, but still it's possible. Maybe the general public isn't yet aware, I was able to book a lunch for June just last month.

Well I feel like such a newbie since we haven't used online dining reservation system yet ( last trip still did things the old fashioned way by phone  )

Just wondering if anyone has found that if online is only showing 2 or 3 available times, are there more seating times available if you call to inquire ? And if, at a later date, I want to cancel &/or change reservations made online do I make those changes online as well or call dining line to do that ?

Many thanks :goodvibes

The online system will only show 3 available times for each inquiry. You have to play around with it to get it to show more available times. Try inquiring for a specific time frame rather than the generic Lunch or Dinner options. It will always only show up to three reservation times. It will show the 3 available times closest to the time you ask for. You should be able to cancel and/or change reservations online if what you want is available.

You could even get one plan for one room and a different plan for the other room if you wanted. Depending on your specific situation and pulling from the info you've provided, there is another option. That of getting the regular plan (TS & CS credits) and one group using more of the TS credits and the other concentrating on the CS credits. That way you could still have meals together at times under the DDP. Obviously here are many variable possibilities here including varying the occupants of the rooms with each plan.
