If I get to Magic Kingdom at 9:00am on a Saturday morning...

will I have to take the Trolley to TTC or that Monorail?

The only ways to TTC from MK are:

the Monorails (which run VERY EARLY to VERY LATE)

or the Ferry Boats (starting maybe 45 minutes before "regular" park hours to about an after "regular" park closing time.)

I'm sorry, but I'm confused. So if I am driving to Magic Kingdom, and I get there at 9am, what do I have to do to get to the gates?

Go to the TTC, purchase the tickets, jump on the Monorail! :)

What if I have my tickets in my hand? I know I'm being a dunce, I just found out all the hoops you have to jump through just to get to the gates.

I have no idea what kind of "hoops" you think there are.
Millions upon millions of guests drive to the MK parking lot (there are FREE trams that will take you to TTC if you are parked too far to easily walk), and either get on the FREE Monorail or the FREE Ferry Boat and ride to the MK.

Then just put your ticket in the ticket reader, stick your finger(s) in the scanner and walk right in.

WDW is a large place. It is not like a small amusement park where you go to the parking lot right next to the park, get out and walk to the enterance. You park, take a tram to another area, then take the monorail or ferry to MK. There are other park option and they make it easy for you to get to each park through their transportation system. Not really any hoops to jump through.

So, if I get there at 9am, I shouldn't have to take the Tram right? Is TTC near the Magic Kingdom Parking Lots or the Magic Kingdom Gate? I've never been and I am just so confused I can't picture this setup. :confused3

Yes unless you are parked in the first couple of rows at the Magic Kingdom parking lot you would still want to take the Tram to the Ticket and Transportation center, then take either the monorail or ferry boat.

It isn't as hard as you are making it. :)

FYI: If the park is opening at 9am the parking lot at the TTC will already be quite busy and you will definitely have to take the tram. Now also, if this is a EMH day and the park is open at 8am for onsite guests, the lot will be even busier. If you are staying on Disney property, I suggest taking the bus to the MK. If you want to be at turnstyles at 9am, I would be parking at 8am.

This is either a JOKE (troll) or you are in some sort of major "panic mode".
If you're just panicked, calm down and "memorize" the following
(while humming the Mickey Mouse Club March).

1. Drive your car to WDW property.
2. Follow the signs to Magic Kingdom.
3. Pay attendant in kiosk for parking.
4. Follow the parking attendants who will direct you to a parking space.
5. Don't forget your camera(s), tickets and things you want to take into MK.
6. Take your keys, Lock your car. REMEMBER WHERE YOU PARKED!!!!
7. Stroll over to end of parking row and wait for Tram.
8a. Board Tram, ride to TTC (which is the driver's entrance to MK)
8b. If you don't have tickets yet, buy them HERE at the kiosks
9. Walk to Monorail (well-marked) "Express to MK"
10. Board Monorail, ride to MK (its first and only stop).
11. Exit Monorail & stay with the crowd as they throng to MK front gate area.
12. Stop by "security bag inspection".
13. Locate tickets.
14. Stand in line at ticket readers.
15. Put ticket in reader, and a finger or two (read the sign) into the scanner.
16. Enter park
17. Have fun!

And as plutolovr said... I would get to the parking lot as EARLY as possible (8am would not be too early in the least), because when MK is busy, the parking and the trip to MK can take a lot of time.

Robo, with all due respect I am NOT a troll. I AM a Human Being who has never been to Magic Kingdom before and could not picture this setup. Your reply was vague which is why I asked in Transportation as well.

Being a MK veteran, I can understand your frustration at my question and I can also see why you have lost patience with me. If you thought I was a troll, you could have easily skipped over my thread, ignored me and continued on...

Also, to further determine if I was a troll, you could click on my name and read my other posts. Over 200 posts, I don't see how you could consider me a troll...

If I had thought you actually WERE at "troll", I wouldn't have taken all that time that I did to carefully write-out the instructions that I just gave you.

But since you ignored my efforts...
and only commented on the very first line of a 22 line post...
NOW I'm still WONDERING. :goodvibes

And THAT comes from being a "veteran".

If you are staying offsite and driving your own car, you will have to park at the TTC parking lot. It's a huge parking lot, so trams are provided to get you to the TTC itself, if you can't get in the first row or two.

When you get to the TTC, you will then either ride the monorail or the ferry, both of which are free, to MK. You will not need to present tickets at this point.

When you reach MK, you will have the security check and then you will go through the ticket booth. This is the first time you will need to present your tickets.

Having said all this, I do not know if you are staying on or offsite. If you are staying at a Disney resort, I absolutely would NOT drive to MK. It's easier in that case to take the bus, which will take you straight to MK without any stops/transfers at the TTC.

devotedchristian....it's not too complicated. I do remember being really confused by all this 'stuff' on my first trip to WDW!!! So...relax, take a deep cleansing breath, and you'll be okay.
If you are staying on-site, at one of the WDW resorts, you are best off riding the bus from the resort to MK. The buses drop you off relatively close to the gates...at least a lot closer than the parking lot folks. If you are staying off-site, then follow the signage to the parking lots for MK...they are very well marked. Park your car, take the tram to the TTC. This is a huge area, so unless you get there very early and are able to park in the first few rows, you are going to want to be on that tram. Then, when the tram drops you off at the main entrance to TTC, since you have your passes already, just head to either the ferry boat, or the monorail station..your choice. If you take the monorail, you might want to hop on the express monorail. This goes directly from the TTC to MK and back again. The other line, the Resort line, makes a bunch of stops (from the TTC, it stops at the Polynesian, then GF, then MK, then the Contemporary, then back to the TTC).
When you get off either the monorail or the ferry, just follow the hordes of people to the front gates. You will have to go through a bag search first, then the actual gate into the park.
Hope this helps a bit.

(Sorry, could not help it) If you refer to the tram as a trolley you gotta be a troll. (The tram is non-electric and makes enough noise that those seated up front cannot hear the announcements. Those allergic to smoke may want to sit towards the back.)

>>> what do I have to do?
I would say, just follow the crowds.

Those who park in the first several rows of parking can walk to the monorail and ferry concourse (the TTC). Trams do not stop near these rows.

Sometimes the first express monorail and first ferry may arrive at Magic Kingdom as late as 15 minutes before park opening. The other monorail to MK, running earlier, would only take guests who have earlier restaurant reservations or who are entitled to enter the park for extra magic hours.

Imagine that the gates to MK are surrounded by Water. The buses go over the water on a sort of bridge and around the side of the Contemporary.

Take a look at this map:
http://www.wdwinfo.com/maps/MK.htm
The ferry boat landing has water in front of it.

This map is of the entire WDW area.
http://www.wdwinfo.com/resortmaps/propertymap.htm
If you look at this map you can see the GF, Poly, Contemporary, and the body of water in front of MK. The parking lot and Ticket & Transporation center are to the right of the Poly. The monorail goes from the Ticket & Transportation center to the poly, GF, MK, Contemporary and back to the Ticket & Transporation Center. You can also take a ferry accross the lagoon. The hotel buses go to the area in the first map (MK Park map) to the right of the park.

Maybe these maps will give you a better understanding of how it's all laid out. I know it sounds confusing until you see it in person!

What Robo said in his directions to Mk is absolutely right!! Just go with the flow! And ....not to try to make things complicated you can take a boat to the Mk. They have a really nice ferry. Then as you get off just follow everyone else and you'll be having fun before you know it! :thumbsup2 Relax! Have a magical vacation:)

When you go to any of the other parks...

Epcot
Disney MGM Studios
Animal Kingdom

You park right at the park. Occasionally if you are a way back you still take the tram to the entranceof the park but that is it!!

Thank you everyone. I understand now. I posted this thread in the Theme Parks forum and it was moved here so that's why you see 2 Threads of mine asking how to get to MK.

I am not a Troll, I am planning this trip for my family and everyone will be looking to me for answers. For a family like ours, something as simple as getting to the gates of MK would have thrown us off for a bit, so I don't want any surprises when we get there as I am sure they are thinking the same as I am.

Also, I am the Mom of a Toddler and we are staying Offsite. I did panic because I was wondering how worth it it would be to take a breaks from the park. And when you are dealing with a Cranky Toddler, all angles should have been explored.
