If I am booked under a free dining PIN for September, can I upgrade to Deluxe Dining?

/
I would call back and speak to another CM..that doesn't sound right to me...If you already have it booked it makes NO sense for them to not let you upgrade? You are asking them to let you GIVE them more money...why on earth would they say no? I would call back and let them know you already have a package booked and that you would like to upgrade it...where is mbanks21? He would have a definately answer or explantation for this situtation.

Call back and talk to someone else. Get them to call guest services if needed. Even after a pin has expired if youre just modifying the tickets or dining or number of people it is possible as long as your not changing the dates or the resort (which may be booked up). Let us know how it goes

Now Im not familiar with the new free dining pins but there is a tiny tiny chance that they restricted it to just basic dining but I highly doubt it. Sounds like you got a new CM that didnt know how to check the alternative code options

Yes, I agree with this. You better call and ask again, I think it isn't right, you already booked for it and just want to upgrade.

I tried to upgrade too, not only my free dining plan but my resort as well, but I got shut down! ARG!!!! :confused3

This still makes no sense to me. I understand not being able to upgrade your resort if the PIN expired and/or there may be no availability at that resort with your PIN...but I do not understand why they wouldn't let you upgrade to the deluxe dining if you pay the difference. I know we keep saying it, but I would call again. At the very least I would ask the WHY they won't let you pay the difference to upgrade to the deluxe? :confused3

I wanted to add a day to our trip last year and was told when I called that it was okay to add/modify my trip until the date when the PIN expired and then no changes could be made. Not really sure why, maybe they figure if they let people add then they have to let people take away too? We booked bounceback this year. I was going to upgrade to Deluxe but figured it was actually cheaper if we just paid for an extra sit down meal a day, if we wanted it....so that's what we'll do if we want an extra sit down meal with our snack/counter service and table service.

You can change...Actually I just called cause SWA doesn't announce fares until 4/14 and my 40% off code exp on 3/31 and I wanted to make sure that if I need to change from a saturday to fri to a wednesday to tuesday (cheaper fares on wed and tues) if I'll be able to do it...plus I am tossing and turning w/ the idea to upgrading to a a LV at poly the CM I talk to said that was totally allowed.

CALL BACK! HTH

So the 40% code you are using to book isn't expired yet...right? So you can modify a reservation up until the date when that code expires with Disney (3/31). The free dining pin or bounceback we're talking about already expired, you had to book by now...the code is no longer valid for new reservations.

Say if you tried to call back on 4/1 to modify your Disney reservation, you wouldn't be able to since the code or PIN booking time had expired.
