If you are or ever have attended MNSSHP, how many of you adults/parents/grandparents dress up in costume? Do you dress in Disney inspired costumes? Do you have any pics, I'd love to see them :) My Dh thinks I am crazy for wanting he and I to dress up with the kids when we go, but I think it will be fun.... and after all it's ALL ABOUT THE MEMORIES!!!

We went to MNSSHP last Oct. and LOVED it! We didn't dress up because it was a last minute decision when we got the tickets. We are going again in Oct. and my 2DDs will be dressing up. DH and I aren't because it is too hard to get DH into a costume(he's a quadripalegic) and I don't so that DH isn't the odd man out. I have been trying to convince the girls to go with Disney themed costumes but my oldest has other ideas. My youngest is conforming though. I will post pics tomorrow, I have moved them all over to my external hard drive and I am not hooked up to it right now. I promise to post them though. The parade was great. The trick or treating is fun, and the fact that you get to see all the villians is awesome. We had a blast last year, and can't wait for this year. Oh, the kids loved the dance parties too. There was so much to do, it was over before we knew it. Definately go, dress up, and have a blast!!

Good Morning All ! Mrs Goofy and I (Denise and Frank) have not been to MNSSP ( I believe) , But we did go to the P&PP when we were there this past Jan. , and we did dress up in full pirate garb,,It was a absolute BLAST !! I will have to say that when we left the Fort at 4:30 for the MK I thought that maybe we would be the only adults in costume. But by 7:00 you'd be shocked at how many adults were in costume, it was wonderful ! I was with the most beautiful princess there ! During the parade we were standing along the parade rope line when Captain Jack came by on the ship, he made a special effort to piont Denise and I out in the crowd,,that made my night ! Oh, and I might add, I'm pretty sure it was the real Captain Jack. Anyways, GO BY ALL MEANS and get dressed up !! You'll love it !..Frank Mr.:goofy:

In case you couldn't tell, the photo of our family was taken at MNSSHP and we went as pirates (as best as we could come up with anyway!). It was a blast, and the kids had a good time as well. We don't have too many good photos from that night, because most were blurry. However, the photo in the sig was taken by a CM as we were making our way toward the Terrace Noodle station.

Now that I think about it, I wonder how many people have seen that shot and figured we dress like that regularly??? We look like throw-backs to a Prince or Adam Ant concert!

Anyhow, lots of people were in costume and the guys playing in a rock band on the float spotted my oldest in the crowd wth the face paint and pointed him out. Peter Pan picked us out of the crowd near closing time and selected us for a backstage entrance to Pirates and "Celebrity Cruise" with Peter Pan and Captain Hook. It was great. Hope you get a chance to enjoy it.

Lisa and I always try to go to the fort in October just for this and we always dress up. Lisa was a pirate and I was more of a train wreck last year but thats another story. Definatly dress up. I know our first year we were a little more reserved with our costumes,,,and then we saw how many people dressed up and decided to do more each year after. This of course works out for us because at home, we are the house people are either scared of or can't wait to see what we have done new. Before you say anything I am talking about on Halloween not the other days. We are just as normal as BDR when it comes,,,,,,wait a minute, bad example:lmao: . Anyway definatly dress up. Also, trying to pick the least crowded day is like trying to decide today what the weather will be like then but think about this. Orlando is still a major city ( at least to me it is ) and people there still like Disney or at least a good party. Weekends tend to fill up fast but midweek the crowd could be less( more of a chance that it won't sell out ).

I don't know how to post pics..tried..failed...but I dressed up with my grandaughter and so did her Mom...we had a blast!!!! I dressed up as the queen of hearts, my daughter was a got raggedy ann and DGD was of course...a princess!!!!so yes go dress up and make memories!!!!:cool1: :hippie:

We dressed up in a sort of low key way - I had found the Trading Spaces shirts online (the same ones the homeowners wear on the show) and ordered them for hubby and I. We wore them with jeans and put bandanas on our heads like we were working, and so we were Home Renovators (and trust me, we looked a lot better than we did when we were Home Renovators for real! :rotfl2: ) I tried to get hubby to wear his tool belt, but he wouldn't go for it.

DD19 (at the time, 20 now), was with us and didn't choose to dress up, but since she's always kind of stylish anyway, we called her our "Hildy".

We were amazed at how many people came up to ask us if we had really been on the show. After a couple of times of immediately telling them the shirts were just our costumes, we started playing along, and said that our episode was going to be shown in the next season - we said to watch for us on the "big top kitchen" episode. Everybody believed it! :lmao:

Ok, here are a few from the parade. Also, I don't have any pics of them but the fireworks were UNBELIEVAVBLE.

I have lots more, but I must control myself!

Maybe you could dress up in all your Ft. Wilderness camping garb, put on scary make-up and go as.....

The Tow-ers of Terror! :rotfl: :rotfl2:

DH and I dress up along with DS. We are pirates (I'm the pirate's wench ;) ). Our costumes are the Incharacter so they are very hot and I have the high heel pirate boots too so what we do is get a locker and store a change of clothes and shoes in it. We eat at LTT right before the party. Then after dinner, get pictures made and "Trick or Treat" on the way back to the lockers. Grab MNSSHP T-shirts at the Emporium, change into our new tees and we're off for more partying :thumbsup2

Costumes we wore:

When we went we didn't dress up. It was just too warm for us. A lot of people were in costume. It is a blast and I would do it again.

Don't feel bad, I still get confused when reading his posts. For the longest I just thought he had dual personalities, which isn't uncommon on this board!:lmao:

Oh, I do want to mention....the lockers were free during MNSSHP last year. We had to pay a deposit but we got it back when we returned the key.

Thanks to everyone for sharing their pictures and experiences, I am really looking forward to it!! I want us all to dress up, although I'm having a hard time finding costumes that DH and I can wear. Wish me luck in finding ones :)
We decided to go to MNSSHP on a weekday, probably on a Tuesday night the second week we are there.

No problem, when I created the user name I thought for sure that Lisa would like the DIS and use it more than me. Unfortunatly, she is not into Forums and has never once posted. I sure things could be worse than getting mistaken for a she on here..Getting mistaken for a she in person might be a blow to my ego but I've managed to not have that happen.
:lmao:
