If buying a DVC resort only for yourself, which would you want to own?

VGF, no question. I loved it on our first trip there in 1994 and it has only gotten better since then with the new pool and beautiful walking path to the MK.

I chose and love them all equally. Aulani, VGF, VGC. Given my druthers, I’d buy BWV for myself in a heartbeat.

I’m still in the process of visiting all the resorts, so I can’t say for sure yet. I really liked VGF and already bought at AKL which was the first place we visited with my daughter in 2018. I liked the hotel side of BCV but haven’t seen the villas. I’m hoping to trade out my 1br AKV value in February to a split stay with PVB and then 1BR Riviera to see whether I want more direct points to stay there and whether I might want PVB2.
If I was buying just for me, and I had unlimited funds, I’d probably buy 75 points at all the resorts.

Either BWV or Beach Club. Walking distance to 2 parks, nothing beats that. Of course I'm biased as we own BWV and love it.

I have also made all the DVC decisions to date, so .... I've already been able to buy for me... but here goes:
1. BLT was the first DVC we bought, for these reasons - my first trip to WDW was 1976 or 1977, I think. I *gawked* when the monorail went through the contemporary, and imagined myself fancy and rich enough to stay there, someday.
My visits to WDW started in the early 80s when I was a child. The Contemporary was the “monorail hotel” to me because the monorail went inside. It was (and continues to be) too expensive for my family to stay there.

I rediscovered my love of Disney and found DVC thanks to Dis Unplugged in 2018. So, I bought DVC at the Contemporary (BLT) to fulfill MY Contemporary dream.

You see/experience the Contemporary from the TTC before even seeing the castle. So, as first impressions go, the Contemporary is pretty “Disney.”
2. VGF was our second resort purchase - kids loved VGF, we celebrated some special milestones at Victoria & Albert's, I have fond memories of every stay here.
3. RIV - bought before opening and have zero regrets. Quiet pool is large enough to do real laps, Topolino's is a new favorite, and I am a sucker for views. 3 of our last 4 stays we have had views of both MK and EP fireworks from our standard room. 2 of those were Christmas and NYE fireworks.

DH doesn't have any interest in adding on, but now that we've stayed at VGC once and lucked out with Room 6504, I could see adding on there. Or maybe enough points to host extended family in a Riviera GV.

I bought the ones I love - VGF and BWV. My kids just have to put up with the ones I like.

As a fellow VGF and RVA owner who added on at VGC: its only the natural evolution of your membership. Don't fight it.

The ones I have - VGF, BC and BR/WLV - and if the new Poly tower has a decent points chart for 1Brs - I’ll buy there as well.

Just me? Poly. It is my favorite by a thousand miles. My husband doesn't love it and the current rooms are too small for my family.

If for myself, BWV for sure. Plenty of places to eat and walk to 2 parks if I want too.

I haven't stayed everywhere yet, but if I could just swap my bay lake over to grand floridian I would be very happy.

Much though I love the VGF, where DH and I own, I think I'd buy VWL or BRV as it's now called.

I love the Mountain West lodge atmosphere at WL. Love the peace and quiet at VWL as well.

I do not like the CCV floorplans so wouldn't buy there unless I could afford enough points for a CCV cabin. Oh, yeah!

We vacationed often in the Rockies and other Western U.S. ranges when I was a kid. I still love those gorgeous mountains and forests. And, I have fond memories of watching Old Faithful erupt. WL's geyser is a pretty nice representation of Old Faithful.

The only restaurant there that I enjoy is Geyser Point, though, so I'd be fixing some light meals in my studio and PHing to WS or heading out to the CR, Poly and GF to eat. Not a big drawback with a PH and time to go eat wherever I fancy.

How about you? Where would you buy?
I’m kind of doing that. It’s just me and my 7 year old but I do a fair amount of solo trips when I have free time. I chose VGF. As an adult with no kids, it’s the perfect place for me.

I grew up near Disneyland. The only place I wanted to buy was VGC. When I received some inheritance, I bought. We also own Aulani.
