I"ve done a search and I get conflicting answers. We want to book a room only as we don't want the ddp and I can get the passes cheaper elsewhere. Plus don't need all the extras that come w/it. I"d like to book early so I can pay it off as we go but I'm not sure if I can do that. Thanks for any info.

Oh- I may use a travel agency to book not sure if DU or not or maybe just disney (not sure if online or just call) if that affects the answer. TIA as always dis friends!:flower3:

If you book a room only you put a one nights deposit down. You can pay the rest at check in or before hand.

Just don't book on line. CAll and book over the phone direct with Disney 407-W-Disney. I do this for room only and then mail in payments as i have the money. Some people have said on line reservations will only accept the one night deposit and not allow any paymnets. You must pay balance only upon check in.

If you call Disney and book the room only you can put the one night deposit down and then pay as much as you want and when you want as long as it is paid in full at check in. If for some reason (I sincerely hope not) that you have to cancel, Disney will get your refund to your account in the same amounts as you paid on the reservation. We have always paid this way when we go to Disney. Even when we stayed at the Dolphin we made monthly payments. We could have put the money in savings and waited to pay off when we arrived but I wanted it paid long before we arrived.

I call once a month and make an additional payment on my Disney Visa. If I did the math correctly my room will be paid by the time I get there. And I will have rewards points to use while I am there.

It depends on the type of reservation you have, some room only reservations won't take payment in advance. A pp mentioned online reservations but it also applies to some of the discount codes and annual pass discounts.

If you book a package you must pay in full prior to arrival but otherwise my best advice is to put aside the $ and wait until checkin to pay in full.

I have paid my room in full prior to arrival quite a few times but the past 2x I arrived with a paid in full confirmation only to find out the money had been refunded - via check mailed to my home. I had to pay the balance "again" and then wait for the check after my return. It worked out in the end but it was a hassle and WDW had quite a bit of my $$ for a while, now I put the $ aside instead.

We've always booked ahead via phone, put the one night's deposit down then and paid via mail a little at a time until we were paid in full. Makes it very easy and nice to be free and clear once trip time arrives. But you have to do it over the phone in order to take advantage of making payments.:thumbsup2

would this only happen if you'd paid by check or can it happen if you pay a little at a time with a credit card?

Thanks for all the responses. Looks like its ok which is great. Now if I can just figure out what we're doing! :confused3 Thanks again!
