Probably not. Those shows were from a time when there was - compared to the present day - a very limited choice of TV viewing options. The three tv networks was all there was, unless you lived in a big market area where there was room for an independent tv station or two.
I can recall in the 80s and early 90s, as cable became widely available, there was a saying, "100 channels, and not a thing to watch." By the 2000s, it was, "1000 channels, and not a thing to watch."
