Anybody else try the Internet Explorer 7 Beta (the latest) yet? So far I like it. Still some kinks in the way the tool bar works but all in all pretty good (note: this is not a debate about the merits of Firefox..... ;)).

Does it replace your IE 6 or can it run as an additional browser, like Firefox, Opera, etc?

It runs "on top" of IE6. It becomes your default browser but if you unistall it it leaves IE6 behind. I tried that and it worked. IE7 looks pretty stable though.

Don't know.

I like some of the new security features and the tabbed browsing implementation ispretty good. It works well with my CSS web pages also.

I guess my main concern would be that it not trash my PC, forcing me to reinstall.

Good point. I get kind of "Banzai" about things like this. But I'm a software development guy and I have more than one computer so I have a way to "back out". I'd agree that it's usually good to wait until MS stuff comes out of Beta. It looks good so far though.

I was thinking of downloading Beta 1 some months ago, now this is Beta 2 (actually 3). I guess the actual release is due this summer.

OMG!!! This is more confusing then the riddle thread! :confused3

I just tried it for the first time, with The DIS -- and it proceeded to crash within a minute. Not ready for prime time.

Wow. Wonder why it hasn't given me any problems?

I'm running XP pro with SP2 and the IE version says Beta 2 version 7.0.5346.5.

Still has a huge bug, especially if you are running any applications that use ActiveX controls...we are testing at work (support over 18,000 pc's) and it broke a lot of applications. MS re-released it this week, fixing some of the issues, but so far, some of them remain. I would wait to upgrade until more testing is done...if you are working okay now, then I would not jump in!
