Identifing Diser`s

Back in Sept., someone ( sorry if you are reading this but I can't remember your name (I think Mike)) was wearing a green shirt that said Got DIS? on it. I approached him and straight out asked if his shirt meant DIS boards. He said yes. We talked for a little until the boat got to BOARDWALK and I got off.
I asked DH if we could do a shirt that said Got DIS? on it for our upcoming trip. He has yet to say yes. Wish me luck as I turn on the charms to get my way.:lmao:

I'll have a HD mickey head on my backpack March 1-5. If anyone sees me feel free to say hello :)

I'll be there in March with an HD Mickey. Feel free to strike up a conversation.

I will put a green Mickey head or ribbon on my pink backpack when we go in March, too. Say hello if you see us! I will look for you there!

the Home Depot mickey, for those who asked, is a paint swatch you can pick up at HD in the paint department. all of their Disney paint swatches are little squares with large mickey heads on them in the colour of the paint they are representing.
we probably won't wear any green on this trip, i would love to but it would totally terrify DBF if a stranger came up and started talking to me....ah well....

During my trip last September I saw two people that I thought were probably DISer's. One had a lime green ribbon and maybe a Home Depot Mickey head attached to her backpack and since we were waiting for the same bus back to Pop from Epcot I did talk to her. I think she was from Ohio. I can't remember what the other person had/was wearing/etc. but people may be noticing even if they don't say anything. During an earlier trip, I sat with a couple from Michigan at Teppanyaki and the conversation turned to message boards and we discovered that we all read the DIS.

For those who want to be identified--do not simply wear a normal article of clothing that is lime green. Tons of people wear lime green. If I went up to every person who had a lime green shirt on, I would never have time for rides!

Wear something that is not a normal thing--like a loop of lime ribbon or an HD mickey head hanging on something, etc. and preferably with something on it that says "DIS" or "DISboards". I'm sure I have seen many folks who wore a lime green ribbon in their hair, or put a lime green bandana on their stroller--and none of them were Dis-ers, it's just easy to spot in a crowd, so lots of folks do it.

I have seen and talked to several Dis-ers on every trip though, and figure I'll see more in March! On occasion I have spotted folks I couldn't stop to talk to, like they were getting off the monorail as we were getting on, or they were walking quickly in the opposite direction or something. For myself, I never manage to have anything to signify me as a DISer, because I travel light in the parks--no stroller, no backpack, no purse, no fanny pack, no lanyard, nothing to hang a ribbon or Mickey head on. :confused3 I think I will wear a pin next time. Check out the DIS store, they have some cool stuff. (last time I checked)

I put HD mickey's on my camera, backback, fanny bag etc. and once Eyore?? (a Disser, not a character) spoke to me. :bounce: That was the only time. Also, I put a huge lime green mickey that I made from bristol board on my window. You could see this from across the promenade. I put my dis name on it. No one said anything, but I'll bet there were a lot of kids asking their parents what that was for. :thumbsup2

I wore lime green a couple of times. In fact, I'm wearing my lime green shirt in that picture in my sig. Plus, we had the Home Depot Mickeys tied into our bags and backpack. We didn't meet any Dis'ers.

We kept an eye out for other people with the HD Mickeys, but didn't see any. My dd is The Queen of Spotting Hidden Mickeys, so if anyone was wearing one near us, she would have found it. :rotfl:

During our last trip to WDW we met a fellow DISer while waiting for the parade at MGM. I saw he had a lime green mickey paint chip on his ECV so I asked if was a DIS boarder. He was very nice and we chatted for a while. I've got to remember my lime green mickey for our next trip!

It worked for me! Last year I met a fellow DISer while waiting for Peter Pan (I think). She saw the HD Mickey Head on my yellow backpack, and asked if I frequented the boards.

That reminds me... I've got to dig up my set from last year or head to HD for some new ones. We're headed out two weeks from today  . I'll be keeping an eye out for more signs.

You know last year I was asking anyone and everyone with green on if they were a Diser. Everyone looked at me like I was crazy- DH got sick of me asking and would just give me a look when he sensed I was going to ask. Well sure enough in the Barber shop I see a family wearing tie dyed Mickey shirts! I am thinking FOR SURE!!! But DH gives me the look- so I caved and didn't do it. Then I come back here and sure enough it was a diser- I found her here and she was kind enough to respond. Of course nobody noticed my lime green but I am trying again this year with the mickey heads! Look out here I come....... :woohoo:

If you're there between March 3 and 13 keep your eyes out for me. I'll have a green ribbon on and I'll be pushing a lime green stroller!

Can't wait to get there, only 21 more days left!

I have had lime green ribbons and even a Dis luggage tag on the stroller. No one has ever said anything. This last trip I wore the lime green Dis fanny pack everyday and no one ever approached me. If you see me this July....please say hello!

I ran into beattyfamily at the Food & Fun Center in CR during breakfast. Even though she did have a DIS lime greeen keyring on her fanny pack it was her daughter who caught me eye as being someone I had "seen" before. I then kept trying to figure out where I knew her from and that was when I noticed the keyring. I introduced myself but not being a big poster I know she didn't recognize me. Of course my family all thought I was crazy going up and talking to her but her and her husband were very nice.

I always have something DIS lime green hanging off me. I did approach a DISer last June, while waiting to do Soarin'. She gave me an odd look, so I backed off. She had the HD Mickey on her backpack with some lime green ribbons, so I figured it was fine to say hi. Guess not.
But there are so many people out there wearing lime green now, since it's such a popular color, that it's hard to figure out who is a DISer and who isn't!! I only approach someone if they have paint swatches or ribbons hanging someplace. Or one of our DIS shirts.

I made some beaded lime-green bracelets for my party last trip, with lime Mickey heads I bought at WoD in NYC... It's a hobby I picked up from an ex-.

Too bad we had to cancel that trip.

I have a button that I'll be putting on my backpack for our trip in June...it's lime green, says 'DIS' on it and my screen name. Made by Merriweather, t was an exchange gift. I hope I get noticed by someone. I might get a HD Mickey as well, maybe some lime green Crocs? Okay, maybe not!

I think our color is more chartreuse than lime green though. Like the lime Tic Tacs. Some of the colors people describe as lime green are things I would walk right by in the parks without giving a second thought. Make sure your green is very bright!

I wore a lime green Mickey Head all last week pinned to my shirt. No one aproached me. I also did not see any lime green ribbons or heads on others. I saw tons of shirts though. It seems to be a very popular color right now.
