Hi guys,

My DF and I finally decided that we're going to have a WDW wedding...

We've been throwing a few ideas around and have got several different colour schemes and themes in mind...but I like this one. I'd just like some feedback from everyone as to what they think, and if there's anything else they could suggest...I'm talking to DF soon about it, and to convince him of the potential colour scheme (pink, black and a hint of white/silver ;) ) I'd really appreciate anything anyone has to offer in terms of advice etc.

My DF has never been to WDW, so he can't really help suggest anything at the moment, and it's a little hard coming from England...

The wedding will likely be in July (I will be at Uni so it's hard for me to get other time off), between Monday and Thursday, and we will have at least 20 guests, with a maximum probably of 60 (depending on how many can afford to come...)

Here's what I've got in mind:

Month: July (probably)
Colours: Pink/Black/White or Silver
Theme: Cherry Blossom

Ceremony: Japan, Epcot (down by the pond, not on the bridge)
I was thinking of giving our guests, who won't be used to the heat, fans like these to keep cool with:

Reception: For a lot of guests, American Adventure Rotunda, Epcot. For less guests, I was originally thinking of a UK Terrace in Epcot, but then I thought about the weather on an afternoon in July...not the best idea. So, I'm not sure of a reception venue, if we have a smaller number of guests.

Dessert Party: UK Terrace, Epcot

Cake: Something like this, but in white, pink and black

Bridesmaids: Something like this

With this, BMs would have black and white/silver flowers with maybe a tiny bit of pink in there somehow

or

With this one, the BMs would have pink and white flowers with a little hint of black in maybe

Invitations: Black, pink and white, with cherry blossom on
Something like:

BM's gifts: I would take them to Japan probably before the wedding, or go on my own, and do the pick-a-pearl and have them set in a necklace most likely to suit their personality. Then they can wear them on the wedding day.

That's all I've got so far...what do you think?

Feedback would be greatly appreciated!!

Thanks

Kayleigh

Sounds great so far!! I love the cherry blosson theme! It's beautiful!

Can you do a reception in Lower UK during the day?? While the park would be open??

I think the pink black and white color scheme is simply gorgeous!

It has an asian twist to it which i LOVE.

For the American Adventure Rotunda, there is a 100 guest minimum for a reception there. They will not accept any less.

The American Adventure Parlour can hold a maximum of 50, so if you dont have 100 guests, but want America in Epcot, you'll only be able to use AA parlour.

Just a heads up! :thumbsup2

Have you given China a thought? I think China would work lovely with your cherry blossom theme!!! The only thing about China is that it has a 75 person minimum, so again, this might not work for you if you have a small group.

I love the theme! I always thought an Asian theme was nice. Love the colors and the cherry blossom invites and cake! I think it would be a beautiful wedding. Oh and I also love the fans for the guests! I am sure they would appreciate them.

Looks like you are on your way! :thumbsup2

Thanks for your replies guys :woohoo:

That was my thought originally, but having gone to WDW for a total of 5 weeks over 2 trips in July, I don't think I would want to chance it with the weather...thats why I'm thinking of somewhere indoors for the reception. That, and air conditioning :thumbsup2

We have a lot of family and friends, and most of them should hopefully be able to join us, given a big enough warning and time to save. I wish there was somewhere exactly like the Rotunda, but smaller...I love it! Thanks for the heads up about the Parlour!

I hadn't thought about it, no, so thanks! Hmm... *thinks*

So:

100+ guests: AA Rotunda
75+ guests: China
50+ AA Parlour
50- guests: ?

Going on who we know will *definately* come, we will have at *least* 25 people...thats just immediate family, not including cousins or friends etc.

It was seeing the fans that first gave me the idea of the cherry blossom theme! I'd already thought of Japan, as thats my favourite place in the whole of WDW, and my DF loves anything Japanese, but the cherry blossom gives it an extra dimension...I hope!

Its a beautiful theme, I love the cake and I think that China would be a wonderful location if your guest list works. I love those colors together. You could even do these as favors

ooo chopsticks as favors would be cute. Or you can get those fortune cookies that have a special message in them too.

100+ guests: AA Rotunda
75+ guests: China
50+ AA Parlour
50- guests: ?

AA Parlor seats a max of 50 guests, so you might wanna do something like

100+ guests: AA Rotunda
75+ guests: China
50+ guests: Living Seas Salon
50- guests: AA Parlor or the Attic (right around the corner at BoardWalk Inn)

Love the cherry blossoms! :goodvibes

I really like your theme! Are you planning on having an evening reception? I'm just not sure if those locations would work during the day - and Epcot weddings are all held at 9 a.m.

We had a morning Epcot ceremony followed by a reception at Living Seas Lounge. It's in Epcot, and it would be air conditioned! HTH!

To use those reception locations it would have to be at night after the park closes. If you use the UK lower for your reception you could not have a DJ.

We had our wedding at the UK pavilion in Epcot and then went to the California Grill for the brunch reception. The 9 or 9:30 ceremony would not be as bad for heat. Usually using Epcot for a ceremony poses some difficulties at least it did for us. They don't have a "getting ready room" so you can ask to be put some place air conditioned but they do not guarantee it. My planner did warn me that if they could not find a place that I would have to wait in the limo if I wanted it to be cool where no one could see me.

Love your ideas so far!! Everything is so crisp and has great lines - the colors just pop!! LOVE IT!

:thumbsup2

I love your colors and theme! It is soooo pretty!! The fans and the chopstick idea provided by StichBride is so cool!! You are doing a great job on the plans. Sorry I can't help with Epcot reception locations as me and DF are getting married at WP with reception at CG. Good Luck!

Thanks for all your replied everyone! They've been helpful :worship:

I'd seen a picture of the chopsticks somewhere else, but forgot about them...so thanks for reminding me. The picture I found, was

They would definately tie in with the cherry blossom theme ::yes::

As for the ceremony, it being early would not bother me as it would mean the heat isn't as bad. Then, it would get the most nerve racking part for me out of the way with early, leaving the rest of the day to celebrate :hyper:

I was thinking of a dress like this
gorgeousalfredainlipstick.jpg

What do you think? I love the pink...its by Alfred Angelo

I've had a look on mouse weddings, as possible reception locations. Thanks for all your suggestions as well. At the moment, depending on guest size, I'm thinking of:

AA Rotunda
AA Parlour
Ballrooms @ BoardWalk
Living Seas
China

Also, has anyone had a dessrt party at MGM...oops...Hollywood Studios? I love Fantasmic, but have failed to actually *see* IllumiNations both opportunities I had...I could hear them though lol I asked my brother which he would prefer (a 12 year old) and he said IllumiNations.
If we had a dessert party for that show, it would most likely be on a UK terrace...what did everyone choose?

Thanks again everyone :goodvibes

your plans sounds beautiful so far and the colors would be very pretty together. Good luck with all your plans!:goodvibes
