Ideas needed for 40th Birthday gift

I am hoping my DIS friends can help me with gift ideas for my friend's 40th Birthday. Her husband is surprising her with a party and I would like to take a nice gift for her. I am not very good at coming up with gift ideas. I am willing to spend around $50.

I was thinking the same thing, or close to it. I was thinking a gift certificate to a day spa where she could chose a massage or a pedicure or manicure or something fun and relaxing.

I know I'm weird but I am not into the spa, facial, massage, pedi, mani thing at all, so make sure she is before you get it. I would love restaurant gc, movie gc, any kind of gc. I HATE gag gifts!! Find out her hobby. If someone got me a Yankees or Disney collectible I would flip!

LOL - I will NOT be showing this thread to DH. He not only teases me about being 40 before him (7 months and one day before - it's his favorite line) - I think he's packing me up to take me to the rest home already.

I don't think this will fall in line of a "nice" gift, but I am going to a 40th party on Saturday and buying 40 lottery tickets. Maybe it will turn into something big.

I got her a gift from Bath & Body Works. I decided on bodywash, creme, perfume, & lip gloss in the Creme Brulee. I love the new scent, I hope my friend likes it as well.
