Ideas for small amounts of pixie dust

Hi! I have completely planned and saved my money for a short trip for my mother and I in February (actually half marathon weekend, hoping the crowds won't be too awful. Fingers crossed.) I surprised her with the trip for her birthday since she has been a single mother for 12 years now and dealt with more than her fair share of life since then. We're staying at the WL and just doing Magic Kingdom and Epcot. I was wondering if there was anything additional I could do as a little bit of "pixie dust" for her? My budget is about tapped out. I saved for over a year for DP, tickets, room, etc. but I would love to have ideas for just small memorable things so I could start saving for those now so I'd have the money by the time we got there.

If you made any ADRs, be sure to include her Birthday as a "celebration." Do this in addition to your resort reservation. Sometimes (used to be more often), she'll get a little "perk" from the restaurant or resort.

You can also have Disney send a complimentary Decal before your trip.

Yes! Make sure she wears her I'm celebrating pin proudly! Did you happen to get an ADR at California Grill? My BF and I ate here our first night and you get to come back to watch the fireworks or plan your meal during them!

You could pack some birthday decorations or even a banner for your door to your room! I'm planning to do this when we go at Christmas!

Another idea is to give her small little presents every day, Like maybe a fun pair of disney socks, little dollar store items she might like!

On the pricier side, but if you are savvy with a printer you could just download them and iron-on, think about making matching shirts "i'm the birthday girl" "i'm with the birthday girl" etc. Or my first birthday trip at disney. I love personalized things!

Hope that helps! Have so much fun!

I love the decal idea! We've been many, many, MANY times (were AP for about 7 years and were close enough to go frequently), so I've made reservations at her favorites as well as Be Our Guest for lunch. I've been looking for where to add the celebration options online but I can't find it? Is it under My Disney Experience?

Actually, you have to call in and have a CM designate your stay for it. Also, you'll have to mention to add the celebration to your ADRs, otherwise I've seen them only do it for the resort reservation.

You could have her do Pick a Pearl in Japan at Epcot. Only $15, and you can purchase a pearl cage necklace to put the pearl in inexpensively before you go. There's a thread on the DIS that has details and links to places to purchase.

If you both like wine, there's a Wine Walk at Epcot. For $20, you'll get two 6 oz. pours each in Germany, Italy, and France.

If you're eating at any of the restaurants at GF or CR, you could order her the Cinderella Slipper dessert -- a white or milk chocolate slipper filled with white or milk chocolate mousse. It's very pretty, and only $15.

Also, I think it's really sweet that you're doing this for your mom! I hope y'all have a great trip! :flower:
